MONSTA X member Hyungwon returns after completing his duty of defense.

Hyungwon, who enlisted in the Army on Nov. 14 last year, will be discharged on the 13th after completing 1 year and 6 months of military service.

Hyungwon enlisted as an active-duty Army soldier on Nov. 14, 2023. Having faithfully fulfilled his duty of defense, Hyungwon was recognized for his diligent and exemplary military service and was promoted to a corporal ahead of schedule, drawing attention.

Prior to Hyungwon, Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun faithfully performed their duty of defense and returned to their fans. Hyungwon will be the fifth 'military veteran' to join MONSTA X ahead of their 10th anniversary.

After completing his duty of defense and returning to his fans, Hyungwon will immediately meet with "Monbebe." A free fan event titled "Hyungwon's Greenhouse" will be held on the 17th at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Myunghwa Live Hall in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. This fan event is exclusively for members of the 8th term of "Monbebe," and attendance is free.

Additionally, Hyungwon has been selected as the MC for the 'Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 presented by ZOZOTOWN' (ASIA STAR ENTERTAINER AWARDS 2025 presented by zozotown, abbreviated as ASEA 2025), which will be held on the 28th and 29th in Yokohama, Japan. He is set to serve as an MC on the second day of the awards ceremony alongside actress Kim Hae-yoon and The Boyz's Younghoon.

With Hyungwon's discharge, MONSTA X can celebrate their 10th anniversary more richly. MONSTA X will release a digital album titled 'NOW PROJECT vol.1' on the 14th at noon, the day of their 10th anniversary, across various music streaming sites.

'NOW' in 'NOW PROJECT vol.1' signifies 'the present' and also refers to the group's name by reversing 'MON,' symbolizing the identity and point in time of current MONSTA X. The album will include a total of 10 tracks, including representative title tracks and songs released between 2021 and 2023. On the occasion of their 10th anniversary, MONSTA X plans to gift their fans, known as "Monbebe," a meaningful present by completing the music from the period when some members could not participate due to military service with the voices of six members.

From Shownu to Hyungwon, the new start of MONSTA X, who have returned after completing their military service, is garnering the attention of K-pop fans.
