In 'My Kid's Private Life,' Jang Yoon-jung was surprised by her son Yeon-woo's successful bargain at half price.
The 20th episode of the ENA variety show 'My Kid's Private Life' (hereinafter 'My Life'), which aired on the 11th, depicted a special day for siblings Yeon-woo and Ha-young traveling in Vietnam.
On this day, while traveling in Vietnam, siblings Yeon-woo and Ha-young revisited Ben Thanh Market with their dad, Do Kyung-wan. Yeon-woo shared, “I really regretted it. I wanted to buy a gift for that ao dai for my mom, but since I couldn’t, I was mentally prepared.”
Previously, Yeon-woo had attempted to buy an ao dai for his mom at Ben Thanh Market but returned empty-handed due to the hefty price of 1,800,000 dong (approximately 104,000 won). Feeling regretful, Yeon-woo held Ha-young's hand tightly, determined to negotiate for an ao dai.
While shopping, Ha-young chose a navy ao dai for their mom, but it was 4,880,000 dong, roughly 270,000 won. Turning back due to the higher price compared to the last time, Jang Yoon-jung remarked, “Ha-young has an eye for quality; everything she picks is expensive.”
Finding another store, Yeon-woo imitated how his dad had negotiated earlier and attempted to bargain. As a result, Yeon-woo and Ha-young successfully negotiated the price for a family ao dai from 2,550,000 dong to an impressive discount of 1,050,000 dong, paying 1,500,000 dong (about 80,000 won).
Lee Hyun-hee asked, “Did you receive the ao dai that the kids bought?” and at the same time, the screen revealed Jang Yoon-jung, who perfectly carried off the pink ao dai brought by the kids. In response, Jang Yoon-jung said, “I wore it. It looks good on me. They picked the sizes perfectly.”
Confident from their negotiations, Yeon-woo also managed to purchase two items at the souvenir shop for 150,000 dong when the original price was 270,000 dong. Jang Yoon-jung was astonished by Yeon-woo's bold negotiation tactics, saying, “What’s with him? He seems to be pretending not to understand while listening for the price he wants.”
Meanwhile, Yeon-woo and Ha-young wrote letters to their mom, whom they missed. In an interview, Yeon-woo said, “It’s better to write a letter for her to hold and read than to video call. I think that’s nice.”
Lee Hyun-hee asked, “Did you receive the letter?” and Jang Yoon-jung replied, “I haven’t received it.” At that moment, Do Kyung-wan exclaimed, “Ta-da!” as he took out the letters from the two kids. A shocked Jang Yoon-jung said, “Have they arrived home? Oh, I forgot I haven’t gone home yet,” and Do Kyung-wan joked, “Please come home already.”
Particularly, Jang Yoon-jung could not hide her surprise at Yeon-woo's letter. Yeon-woo started his letter with “To my mom Jang Yoon-jung,” and laughed, saying, “It seems I’m proud to be Jang Yoon-jung’s son.”
Yeon-woo continued, “Mom is 4.9 out of 5 stars. Because there’s no zero on my mom, I can’t wait to see my perfect mom. I love you.” Touched, Jang Yoon-jung said, “Our son thinks this way. He says there are no flaws,” and added, “I almost felt bad. What does it mean to be 4.9?” proudly regarding her son.
