The recent status of singer Koo Jun-yeob, who lost his wife, the late Seo Hee-won, has been revealed.

On the 12th, the late Seo Hee-won's mother posted a lengthy message along with a family photo on social media. The family photo also captured Koo Jun-yeob's haggard appearance, wearing a hat.

The mother said, “My son-in-law Koo Jun-yeob is missing Hee-won and is growing thinner day by day. Another son-in-law, Mike, is always taking good care of me,” and expressed gratitude for having deeply filial daughters.

She added, “Many celebrities and the public remember Hee-won and send me warm support, for which I am truly grateful,” stating, “I will gather strength. Though not now, I believe I will slowly feel better.”

Earlier, the late Seo Hee-won abruptly passed away from acute pneumonia while traveling in Japan in February. She was 48.

At that time, Koo Jun-yeob conveyed his feelings through social media, saying, “Right now, I am going through a pain that feels like my insides are tearing apart due to indescribable sadness and suffering. I have neither the strength to say anything nor do I want to.”

The late Seo Hee-won debuted as a singer with her younger sister Seo Hee-je in the group SOS. She became well-known in Korea after playing the lead role of Shan Cai in the Taiwanese version of 'Boys Over Flowers', titled 'Meteor Garden', in 2001.

The late Seo Hee-won and Koo Jun-yeob received much support for their movie-like love story spanning 20 years. They met in 1998 and dated for a year. Seo Hee-won later married Wang Xiao-fei and had a son and a daughter, but divorced in 2021. The late Seo Hee-won and Koo Jun-yeob reunited in 2022 and became a couple, but they were separated by death before their third wedding anniversary.

Subsequently, local media reported that Koo Jun-yeob has been visiting his wife's grave daily since her passing and has lost 12 kg.
