VVUP member Kim has been spotlighted as the 'rookie of April.'
Kim topped the 'Trend of April' rookie institutional sector at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards (2025 KGMA) held on the K-pop fan ground platform 'FanCast' on 5th.
This was based on the monthly voting conducted by Ilgan Sports, where Kim received 181,259 votes during the voting period throughout April, firmly establishing them as a 'next-generation K-pop artist.'
Born in 2006, Kim hails from Indonesia and is solidifying a robust discography as the main vocalist of VVUP. Prior to their debut, Kim was the runner-up in the Indonesian audition program 'The Indonesian Next Big Star' and placed third in 'The Voice Kids Indonesia' season 2. Since their official debut last year, Kim has gained significant popularity not only in Korea and Indonesia, but also across various Asian countries.
VVUP, of which Kim is a member, won the rookie singer sector at the '16th 2024 Seoul Success Awards' held last November. On that day, VVUP noted, "We are honored to receive such a precious award," adding, "This achievement could only happen thanks to our fans, 'Binnie' (official fan club name)."
Additionally, VVUP collaborated with the luxury golf wear brand MARK & LONA on the 'RICH & FAMOUS' collection last January. At that time, 92 Japanese media outlets extensively covered the news, underscoring VVUP's global appeal.
Meanwhile, VVUP is in the final stages of preparing for their comeback. They plan to release a high-quality album in the first half of the year to celebrate their 1st anniversary.
