Actress Lee Mi-do transformed into a bodybuilder physique in a month and a half for the drama “Pump Up the Healthy Love”, demonstrating a passion akin to that of a professional.
KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Pump Up the Healthy Love” (directed by Kwon Yong-il, written by Kim Ji-soo) depicts various human stories set against the backdrop of a health club that operates around the clock. Lee Mi-do portrays the longtime staff member Choi Rosa, who handles the demanding members skillfully and showcases an unprecedented transformation.
In particular, Lee Mi-do embarked on high-intensity training for this role, completing a solid muscular and healthy physique similar to that of a bodybuilder in just a month and a half, drawing attention. She trained her body for a scene where her character participates in a bodybuilding competition.
On the 9th, Lee Mi-do expressed her gratitude, saying, “Is there anyone who hasn’t watched ’Pump Up the Healthy Love' yet?! Rosa’s challenge in the fitness competition! Although there are some regrets about the short period of a month and a half...” She thanked her fellow actors of ’Pump Up the Healthy Love' who supported her and the athletes who helped with the filming. “Thank you, posing instructor Lee Ye-seul,” she added.
In the released photos, Lee Mi-do captivated attention with her intense gaze and well-defined muscle lines, which are entirely different from her existing cheerful and comfortable image.
Having transformed into a muscular physique, Lee Mi-do later expressed her desire for action acting by saying, “Let’s go for action acting.”
Colleagues were also impressed by Lee Mi-do’s transformation. Kim Suk said, “You’re the best!!!” Jeon Woo-hee remarked, “Wow, unnie, you’re really amazing, you’re the best,” Jo Kwon exclaimed “Wow,” and Hong Yun-hwa left a thumbs-up emoji, showing their astonishment.
