Comedian Shim Jin-hwa visited the late Kim Hyung-eun's father in honor of Parents' Day.
On the 9th, Shim posted, "To see my father," adding, "I am grateful to still share a drink with my healthy father. I feel so thankful to have my aunt and The Man from Nowhere, who have always been the same."
She continued, "Today I went alone, but I was glad that our manager joined me. In fact, both the manager and I really enjoy the meals prepared by my aunt, so it makes the trip to see my father even better," along with photos from the day.
The released photos show Shim Jin-hwa meeting the father of her close friend, the late Kim Hyung-eun. Shim visited to commemorate Parents' Day and met Kim Hyung-eun's father, who turned 90. She and her husband, Kim Won-hyo, gifted him pocket money and a carnation. Kim Hyung-eun's father hugged the carnation tightly and smiled happily with his daughter's friend. Shim Jin-hwa also showed filial piety on behalf of her departed friend by sharing a drink during their meal.
Earlier, Shim Jin-hwa celebrated her classmate Kim Hyung-eun's father's 90th birthday with other friends, and in January of this year, she visited the columbarium, saying, "It's been 17 years since Hyung-eun passed. I brought a framed photo of our classmates that we took recently to leave with Hyung-eun," showcasing their unchanging friendship.
The late Kim Hyung-eun made his debut as a comedian with SBS in 2003, winning the Daesang at the SBS Comedy Contest along with Kim Shin-young, Kim Tae-hyun, Shim Jin-hwa, and Lee Kang-bok as part of the Danmuji Brothers. He gained much love through popular segments like "People Who Find Laughter (Ujcha)" and "The Beautiful Three Musketeers."
He was involved in a serious collision accident while heading to YongPyong Resort on December 16, 2006. He lost consciousness and after more than nine hours of surgery showed signs of recovery, but he passed away from complications related to a heart attack on January 10 the following year, just 25 days after the accident.
