It has been two years since veteran actor Choi Jung-hoon passed away.

Choi Jung-hoon left this world on May 10, 2023, due to pneumonia, surrounded by loved ones. He was 83 years old. The news of his death became public a day later, causing even more sadness.

Born in 1940 in Anju, South Pyongan Province, Choi Jung-hoon debuted as a KBS 1st generation talent in 1961 and embarked on his acting career. In 1972, he starred as independence activist Kim Sung-jun in the KBS legendary drama 'Yero,' quickly rising to the ranks of a national actor. His heavy and solid acting was sufficient to become a symbol of Korean drama in the 1970s and 1980s.

During his lifetime, the deceased made a substantial impact in grand dramas such as 'Daemyung,' 'Gaeguk,' 'Dawn,' and 'Land,' and left a lasting impression once again by portraying President Lee Seung-man in 'General Kim Hong-il' and 'Myeongdong Count.' These were times that showcased the essence of solid and deep acting.

Choi Jung-hoon is also the younger brother of the late filmmaker Choi Hoon. Together with his brother, he collaborated as director and actor in works such as 'Run Towards Tomorrow' and 'Best Friends,' and their artistic synergy provided unforgettable memories for movie fans of that era.

Even in the 2000s, his acting remained strong. He appeared as Hong Joon-pyo's father, played by Kim Sang-joong, in Kim Soo-hyun's 'The Woman of My Man,' delivering a performance with weight, and in 'Life is Beautiful,' he once again proved his worth as an actor who understands the depth of life. In the 2008 drama 'Mom Has Gone Crazy,' he showcased his comedic acting as Lee Soon-jae's friend. His last work was the SBS drama 'The Woman's Fragrance,' which aired in 2011.

Two years have passed, but the passion for acting reflected in the works he left behind continues to live on in the hearts of many people.
