Cultwo Kim Tae-kyun expressed disappointment after listening to singer Hong Ji-yoon's song.
On the 10th, singer Hong Ji-yoon grants on SBS Power FM's 'Escape from 2 PM Cultwo Show' (hereafter 'Cultwo Show'). Returning with her new song 'Garirang,' Hong Ji-yoon joined the 'Love Center' segment with creator Lala and singer Kim Tae-hyeon.
Hong Ji-yoon explained that the title of her new song 'Garirang' adds 'Arirang' to the meaning of 'sending away the old and going with the new.' After enjoying the live performance, Kim Tae-hyeon noted, 'She sings high notes comfortably without tremor,' while Kim Tae-kyun expressed regret, saying, 'We should have cast Hong Ji-yoon as the main character in the drama 'Jeongnyeoni.'
Hong Ji-yoon attracted attention as she is known to be a major in pansori, a traditional Korean music genre. Starting pansori in the 6th grade of elementary school, Hong Ji-yoon stated, 'I only remember being in the mountains during the vacation.' When asked about the reason she started pansori, she replied, 'I first started with Western vocal music and children's songs, but I wanted to do music that doesn't involve playing the piano, so I started pansori.'
Meanwhile, Hong Ji-yoon is set to make her official debut in Japan in July. She has been gaining experience in Japan alongside veteran singer Kim Yeon-ja.
'Escape from 2 PM Cultwo Show' can be listened to daily from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on SBS Power FM 107.7MHz and can also be enjoyed as a video radio on its official YouTube channel 'Elao.'
