YG Entertainment has succeeded in turning a profit. The rise of the talented rookie girl group Baby Monster has contributed to stabilizing the revenue structure.

On the 9th, YG Entertainment announced its first-quarter results. According to the report, YG Entertainment recorded a revenue of 100.2 billion won in the first quarter of 2025 on a consolidation basis. Operating profit was recorded at 9.5 billion won.

This achievement clearly shows that the low-annual IPs, such as the boy group Treasure and the girl group Baby Monster, which were strategically invested in since last year, have driven external growth. Treasure's new release and Baby Monster's regular album sales were also performing well.

Through this, YG Entertainment recorded growth in its concert business linked to global tours and an increase in merchandise sales related to it. It is noted that the company is achieving a balance between profitability and portfolio, indicating stabilization of the revenue structure.

In fact, Baby Monster has been receiving praise as a talented rookie since their debut. Their outstanding live skills and performances, honed primarily on concert stages, have spread through YouTube Shorts and social media, solidifying their image as a "talented girl group." They are breaking the existing K-pop idol group formula focused on music broadcasts, achieving rapid monetization through concerts, and demonstrating growth as live artists.

Particularly, the performances of members Ahyeon and Rami from the vocal line have drawn admiration. The prevailing view is that their solid vocal technique, high pitch, and explosive volume overcome the limitations of poor sound quality or music broadcasts and special stage performances. Additionally, Luka and Asa's intense rap continue to effectively drive YG Entertainment's strategy that has developed K-pop idols based on BASS.

The global activities through Parita and Chiquita, who are from Thailand, are also points of anticipation. As the fandom of K-pop idols in markets such as Japan, China, and Southeast Asia continues to grow steadily, the activities of Baby Monster as key members are also noteworthy.

Additionally, YG Entertainment plans to start the tour of its other flagship IP, the girl group Blackpink, in the second half of this year. Furthermore, there are plans for the release of new albums and tours for Treasure and Baby Monster. The company has stated that it plans to respond swiftly to changes in the Chinese market, where optimism is rising due to signs of lifting restrictions, aiming for continuous growth, making future developments even more worthy of attention.
