In “Head Over Heels,” Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo meet in a first love rescue romance.
The production team of the new tvN drama “Head Over Heels,” scheduled to air in June (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, DEXTER, and Eo Content Group), announced on the 9th that they released two teaser posters which heightened anticipation by featuring arrows striking love talismans.
“Head Over Heels” is inspired by a popular webtoon of the same name, showcasing a boy with a fatal destiny and an MZ female shaman who strives to prevent it, delivering a bold first love rescue romance of eighteen youths. The story promises fresh excitement as high school shaman Park Seung-ah (played by Cho Yi-hyun) fights fate for her first love, while the relationship with bae Gyeonwoo (played by Choo Young-Woo), who opens a world of ordinary happiness for her, unfolds.
Above all, the collaboration between director Kim Yong-wan, who has shown exceptional directing skills through various genres such as “Windfall,” “The Method,” and “If You Say Your Wish,” and writer Yang Ji-hoon adds to the anticipation. The meeting of “first love material” Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo itself excites drama fans. Attention is focused on the first love rescue romance that Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo, reuniting after three years since “School 2021,” will complete.
The two teaser posters revealed amidst high expectations amplify the excitement. First, the appearance of the high school shaman in uniform holding a bell is intriguing. Another poster features an arrow piercing the love talisman on a heart target, foreshadowing a rescue romance that defies fate and preserves first love, adding to the thrill. Additionally, the English title “Head Over Heels,” which encapsulates the tumultuous first love of eighteen boys and girls, piques curiosity further. Gyeonwoo, who enters the shrine upside down, is seen by the shaman in this position, indicating an imminent fatal fate. Will Seung-ah be able to protect Gyeonwoo from misfortune? It raises anticipation for how the romance of “Head Over Heels,” where they fall deeply in love that could overturn their worlds, will unfold.
Cho Yi-hyun plays Park Seung-ah, who leads a double life as a high school student by day and a shaman by night, with her 24 hours feeling insufficient. From the moment bae Gyeonwoo enters the shrine upside down, Seung-ah becomes the “Gyeonwoo talisman” for eliminating misfortune and embarks on a mission to protect her first love. Cho Yi-hyun, who has made a strong impression on viewers with her diverse charms in dramas like “Wedding Battle,” “All of Us Are Dead,” and “School 2021,” is expected to showcase her lovely and bold appeal as an MZ shaman.
Choo Young-Woo takes on the role of bae Gyeonwoo, who was born with a fatal destiny and has been followed by misfortune. He is a person with a ‘’hard as steel'' mentality who, at one time, was recognized as a promising archer. Because he has always struggled with bad luck, he appears rough on the outside but is warm and kind on the inside. His life begins to change gradually after meeting high school shaman Park Seung-ah. Recently, the attention is higher than ever on the new appeal Choo Young-Woo will showcase in “Head Over Heels,” following his popularity from “The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call” and “The Tale of Lady Ok.”
The production team of “Head Over Heels” said, “Please look forward to the thrilling youth chemistry between Cho Yi-hyun and Choo Young-Woo, who will go against fate and become each other’s salvation to complete their first love.”
Meanwhile, the new tvN drama “Head Over Heels” will premiere in June.
