The Man from Nowhere broadcaster Lee Sang-yong has passed away at the age of 81.

On the 9th, news of Lee Sang-yong's sudden death has shocked not only the entertainment industry but also the public. Lee Sang-yong collapsed while on his way to a hospital near his home in Seocho District, Seoul, due to health issues, and was urgently transferred to Seoul Saint Mary’s Hospital for emergency treatment but unfortunately passed away.

In this regard, a close associate of Lee Sang-yong noted in a call with OSEN, "It is true that the teacher has passed away." He explained, "I understand he went to the hospital with a cold and suddenly passed away while leaving," adding, "He did not have any chronic diseases usual.

However, a funeral home has not yet been prepared. The associate stated, "It is expected to be prepared at Seoul Saint Mary’s Hospital, but currently, there are no available rooms. They say it will be possible from tomorrow afternoon."

He also mentioned, "Additionally, his son resides in Hong Kong, not in Korea, so we intend to arrange the funeral home upon his arrival in Korea."

The sudden news is even more heartbreaking as it was reported that he had delivered lectures in good condition the day before.

Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yong debuted in 1971 as an MC for BS Christian Broadcasting. He gained fame through the KBS children's singing program 'Let's Sing Together' in 1975, where he became well-known by the nickname 'The Man from Nowhere.'

In particular, he was active as a host for MBC's military welfare program 'Stage of Friendship' since 1989. This made him widely recognized as 'The Man from Nowhere', and he received great love from soldiers and their families.

Additionally, he is also known for his extraordinary charity work, supporting over 560 children suffering from heart disease and helping them find new life.
