Singer Nam Taehyun is under police investigation for allegedly driving under the influence during his probation period for drug use, but he proceeded with the release of his new song 'RAIN' as planned.

There is no issue with the release of the new song itself, but Nam Taehyun is currently in a situation where he has received probation for drug use. On the 8th, the Seoul Yongsan Police Agency stated that they are investigating Nam Taehyun for violating the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence).

Nam Taehyun is accused of hitting the median while trying to overtake a vehicle near Dongjak Bridge in the direction of Ilsan on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro around 4:10 a.m. on the 27th of last month. There were no injuries, and it is reported that Nam Taehyun's blood alcohol concentration was over 0.08%, which is above the legal limit. Although the police requested an arrest warrant for Nam Taehyun, who is on probation, the court dismissed it.

Nam Taehyun, who had already received a summary order for driving under the influence, faces criticism as news emerges that he is under police investigation for driving under the influence during his probation period for drug use. Meanwhile, the release of his new song has not been canceled and is proceeding as scheduled, drawing attention to Nam Taehyun's lack of self-reflection.

Meanwhile, Nam Taehyun was indicted for allegedly using methamphetamine together at the home of Seo Min-jae in Yongsan District, Seoul, in August 2022, and for allegedly using methamphetamine alone overseas in December of the same year. The court sentenced him to one year in prison and two years of probation in January of last year.

Nam Taehyun also came under scrutiny for driving under the influence in March 2023. He was charged under the Road Traffic Act (driving under the influence) and received a summary order with a fine of 6 million won.
