In 'Radio Star,' Song Il-gook revealed the sales figures of the triplet calendar.
In the entertainment program aired on the 7th, 'Radio Star' featured a Parents' Day special titled 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' with Song Il-gook, Oh Min-ae, Jung Si-a, and KCM.
On that day, the MCs asked, 'Have the triplets ever debuted as actors?' Song Il-gook replied, 'They made a cameo in the historical drama 'Jang Young-sil' while filming 'The Return of Superman.' At that moment, when the childhood appearance of the triplets was shown, Song Il-gook looked back fondly, and Kim Gook-jin shouted, 'Just show us that!' bringing laughter.
Above all, Song Il-gook noted that there was a moment when he truly realized the overwhelming popularity of the triplets while filming 'The Return of Superman,' attracting attention.
Song Il-gook said, 'We created the triplet calendar on 'Superman is back.' They suggested that we try selling it. I was half dubious, thinking it wouldn’t sell well. I said I would donate all the proceeds. However, just what came to me was nearly 300 million won in pure profit.' He expressed admiration for having donated more generously.
As of December 2015, it sold 360,000 copies with sales of 2 billion won. Song Il-gook shared, 'I didn’t think it would sell that much. My wife and I discussed whether we would even sell '300 copies,' and I remember my wife saying, 'Why did we even agree to this?'
