YouTuber Malwang (real name Yoo Taeyang), who has 1.65 million subscribers, confessed to being a victim of 'body cam fishing' in the past.
On the 7th, while conducting a live broadcast on his channel, YouTuber Malwang revealed that he was a victim of body cam fishing during a video call with a woman presumed to be the representative who offered him a lingerie model job eight years ago while he was active on AfreecaTV.
According to Malwang, the woman instructed him to undress, saying, "I want to see your fit," and then continued to encourage him, saying, "You have a great body" and "You look strong." As a result, Malwang excitedly took off all his clothes and even engaged in lewd acts.
However, the woman was actually a man pretending to be female. Following this, the man blackmailed Malwang, and the video was subsequently circulated on online communities.
Ultimately, Malwang reported the distributors to the cyber investigation team and shared his experience on his broadcast.
He mentioned that he thinks he won't be able to catch the first perpetrator, and during the broadcast, while speaking with his mother, he expressed, "I am strong. I, the son, have bravely revealed this once."
In response, his mother comforted him, saying, "You are strong. My son must have suffered a lot." Malwang replied, "I didn’t suffer. It’s something that has been happening for several years, and I’ve been keeping it quiet because I was worried about other potential victims. Then his mother encouraged him, saying, "Seems like it has burst out well. Isn’t this the end?"
