The new standard for global K-pop awards, the 'KM Chart Awards,' is set to unfold its second act.
The '2nd KM Chart Awards' will be held domestically on July 11. This award ceremony was first held on March 27 of last year under the name 'Universal Superstar Awards (2024 USA),' and from this year onward, the official name has been changed to 'KM Chart Awards (KM Chart Awards, hereafter '2025 KMA').
The organizer, 'KM Chart,' is a K-music specialized chart platform that has been aggregating the achievements of artists active in various music genres, including K-pop, through fair chart data and fan participation. The 'KM Chart Awards,' held under their auspices, is expected to be a festive occasion dedicated to the artists who have shone in the music industry over the year and the fans who supported them.
The first awards ceremony, which was successfully held at the Peace Hall of Kyunghee University in Seoul last year, had Lee Chan-won and Kwon Eun-bi as hosts, with artists widely loved both domestically and internationally, such as Taeyong (NCT), Young-tak, Lucy, MeloMance, Chuu, Play-B, and Fifty Fifty in attendance. It successfully concluded its inaugural event, receiving global music fans' attention amid a splendid special stage and enthusiastic cheers from fans.
Building on the success of the first event, the upgraded 2nd '2025 KMA' plans to showcase a wider variety of performances, events for global fans, and content to discover new artists who will lead the next generation of K-music.
KM Chart CEO Yoon Sung-bin noted, "The '2025 KMA' will be more than just an awards ceremony; it will become a cultural festival created together by K-pop fans around the world," and added, "We are preparing a stage where artists and fans from all walks of life can come together again this year, so we ask for your great anticipation and interest."
Meanwhile, the lineup and detailed schedule for the '2025 KMA' will be revealed sequentially.
