Song Il-gook on 'Radio Star' shared his struggles with parenting the triplets (Daehan, Minguk, and Manse) who are going through puberty.
On the broadcast of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star' on May 7, during the special episode for Parents' Day featuring Song Il-gook, Oh Min-ae, Jung Si-a, and KCM, he reported on the recent developments concerning the triplets.
On this day, Song Il-gook mentioned that his wife, a judge, has been assigned to Suncheon and he is currently handling solo parenting during the week. He expressed, "The three have very different personalities. Manse fits in well. The second one needs a delicate approach. They fight all the time," and sighed while holding back words about the eldest, Daehan.
He continued, "In elementary school, I let them be. Now that they are middle schoolers, my wife changed the rules saying they need to study. The environment has changed so much, so there's a lot of stress. But they clash with me instead. They can’t talk to their mom."
In particular, Song Il-gook noted that the triplets have entered puberty, saying, "The kids I knew are gone, and unknown kids have come home," while being cautious when asked how they came. He stated, "I have 2.5 million followers. That's not a small number. But I can't post a single proper photo," and Yoo Se-yoon, who also has a child going through puberty, agreed, saying, "I also haven't posted anything since middle school."
Song Il-gook added, "I tried to go to bed yesterday but when I told them to stop looking at their phones and 'sleep,' they glared at me and said 'Uh.'" He expressed disappointment, saying, "I tend to express myself a lot, but Manse does accept it a bit more. When I try to kiss them during mealtime, they turn their heads away."
The MCs then asked, "Do they do that to their mom?" and Song Il-gook replied, "Not at all. Because their mom is a judge, her words carry weight. So they unload all their stress on me," and he let out another deep sigh, eliciting laughter.
