At a press conference in Seoul's Songpa District at Lotte Cinema World Tower on the afternoon of the 8th for the film 'Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning', Tom Cruise responded to the question, "President Trump suggested a 100% tariff policy on foreign-produced films; what do you think about this?" by saying, "I can't hear very well." The moderator then remarked that it was "a wise answer" and moved on to the next question.

Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, and director Christopher McQuarrie, who attended the press conference alongside Tom Cruise, also appeared momentarily flustered.

Earlier, President Trump stated on the 4th (local time) that he directed the imposition of a 100% tariff on films produced outside the U.S. and imported. Hollywood officials expressed concerns about retaliatory tariffs, revenue impact, and how it would affect Hollywood films filmed overseas. As industry backlash continued, the Trump administration took a step back, stating, "No final decision has been made yet."

Meanwhile, 'Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning' tells the story of Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, who are pushed into an existential crisis threatening all of humanity and must risk their lives to embark on a mission that all choices lead to. It is set to premiere first in South Korea on the 17th.
