Singer Nam Tae-hyun is facing criticism as it is revealed that he has a history of being caught for drunk driving, even as he prepares for his comeback stage.

According to the police, Nam Tae-hyun was involved in a drunk driving accident around 4:10 a.m. on the 27th of last month near Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeon Expressway, hitting a central divider. His blood alcohol concentration was at the level for license revocation (0.08% or higher). After the accident, the police charged him with violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and are currently investigating.

The problem is that this is not Nam Tae-hyun's first drunk driving incident. He was previously caught for drunk driving in March 2023 in the vicinity of Sinsa-dong in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

At that time, after partying around 3:30 a.m., he was awaiting a designated driver when a friend's vehicle blocked his car. He took the wheel himself and moved the car about 5 meters. During this process, while opening the car door, he collided with a passing taxi, damaging the taxi's side mirror, and reached an agreement at the scene.

However, as a result of this incident, Nam Tae-hyun was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.114%, resulting in a summary order imposing a fine of 6 million won. This fact became known later, and although he stated at the time that he would "reflect on his actions," he has repeated the same crime in less than a year.

Moreover, at the time, Nam Tae-hyun was under a two-year suspended sentence for drug charges and was currently within that probation period. This single moment of drunk driving has betrayed not only his fans and the public but also Yoon Hyung-bin, who cautiously arranged the comeback stage.
