Who are the global 6 crews that have thrown their hats into the ring for “WSWF”?
The Mnet “World of Street Woman Fighter” (produced by Kwon Young-chan CP, Choi Jeong-nam PD / hereafter “WSWF”) is set to air its first broadcast on the 27th and is the third season of Mnet’s mega hit “Street Woman Fighter”, preparing to meet viewers with a national battle among a total of 5 countries, including South Korea, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, and Australia. The scale is different from before, as the lineup has been revealed. With the posters for each crew recently unveiled, expectations for the broadcast are rising, and we will take a look at the “6 teams, 6 colors” attractiveness of the participating crews.
▶ AG SQUAD, where skill is the reason for existence
The Australian representative crew AG SQUAD is made up of core members from the first generation who led the heyday of the global dance crew “ROYAL FAMILY”. Kaea, known as “the sister with red hair” mentioned in the main trailer, is the leader of the team. With strong charisma and respect shown by numerous dancers, their activities are already attracting attention. Most notably, the clash with the new generation ROYAL FAMILY is expected to be a highlight of this season. With outstanding skills, the crew is already receiving high praise from fans, and lots of expectations are building for their performance on the show.
▶ BUMSUP, the dignity of an unapproachable leader
“Team Korea” BUMSUP is an Avengers team formed by the leaders who shined in “Street Woman Fighter” Season 1 and “Wacking Queen” LIP J. Although they are familiar faces, this is the first time fans can see the “leaders” as one team, leading to high expectations. The individuals’ outstanding star qualities and skills, along with strong camaraderie built through “Street Woman Fighter” Season 1, are seen as their strengths. With Honey J as “the leader of leaders” joined by GABEE, no:ze, LEEJUNG, Ri.hey, LIP J, MONIKA, AIKI, and Hyojin Choi, fans are excited to see what kind of synergy they will display in this new yet familiar lineup.
▶ MOTIV, heavy moves and unique personality
MOTIV, representing the United States, is a hip-hop crew led by old-school hip-hop dancer Marlee. The team is noted for its heavy moves and unique personalities, with Marlee, who formed the crew in her teenage years and has performed on global stages such as “World of Dance”, alongside Logistx, a U.S. breaking national representative. Fans online expressed nostalgia for the American hip-hop heyday, commenting, “It evokes nostalgia from the golden age of American hip-hop,” and “They seem to know how to bring out the groove well,” showing excitement for MOTIV’s performance, while also appreciating their distinctive vibe of enjoying themselves amidst fierce competition.
▶ OSAKA Ojo Gang, the irreplaceable energy is coming
OSAKA Ojo Gang is a crew based in Osaka, rooted in hip-hop and battle culture, led by Ibuki and Kyoka, who have swept victories in major dance battles worldwide. With only two teams participating from Japan, the showdown between Osaka and Tokyo crews will be a cannot-miss highlight this season. Even before the broadcast, the main trailer has showcased Kyoka and others exuding exceptional presence, driving fandom energy. Furthermore, the face-off between “Wacking Queen” Ibuki and LIP J has also drawn significant anticipation from fans, igniting excitement ahead of the first broadcast.
▶ RHTokyo, the swag of the queens of performance
RHTokyo is also representing Japan alongside OSAKA Ojo Gang, with Riehata, a symbolic dancer from Tokyo who is also active as a choreographer in K-POP, as its leader. Many dancers participating in this season regard Riehata with respect, making her name essential for strong performances. Expressing confidence with, “We will not lose in terms of crew unity,” solid family ties are also expected. Additionally, among the members, Rena, who also performed in “Street Woman Fighter 2″, adds to the warmth felt by fans.
▶ ROYAL FAMILY, we are the worldwide No. 1 crew
ROYAL FAMILY has captured attention just by revealing their lineup. Known globally as a prominent crew, they have undergone a generational shift with Teesha at the helm, ushering in the “New Generation” era. Particularly, with the founding members of ROYAL FAMILY also participating through AG SQUAD, attention is drawn to the dynamics of old versus new. The released main trailer features Teesha, the current leader of ROYAL FAMILY, targeting Kaea, the leader of AG SQUAD, as a battle opponent, hinting at a rebellion from the juniors. All eyes are on whether these rising stars can prove their presence as the worldwide No. 1.
Mnet “WSWF”, which has hinted at another syndrome with the intense presence of six crews, will air for the first time on May 27th at 10 p.m.
