Designer Koo Jung-soon from 'Neighbor Millionaire' revealed that she is still unmarried and plans to donate her wealth to society later.

On the afternoon of the 7th, Koo Jung-soon, a 'first-generation CI designer of South Korea,' appeared on EBS and E Channel's 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire' (hereinafter 'Neighbor Millionaire').

Seo Jang-hoon and Jonathan headed to the millionaire's 1400-pyeong mansion, where 500 pieces of artwork valued at billions of won caught their eyes. The two passed through the entrance and a long hallway to face a spacious study, where they finally met the new millionaire designer, Koo Jung-soon. Koo is the mastermind behind the logos of major corporations known by every South Korean, starting from Geumseongsa, the predecessor of LG, to KBS, Samsung Anycall, and Cyworld, over the past 50 years.

The house was filled with chairs of various sizes, and Jonathan asked, "Can I sit down?" Seo Jang-hoon warned, "Be careful when sitting. If it breaks, you have to pay for it all."

Koo Jung-soon revealed, "BTS RM also came to see this chair," to which Seo Jang-hoon replied, "That chair must be incredibly expensive," feeling surprised. Koo informed him, "(The price) exceeds hundreds of millions of won," eliciting admiration.

The chair is a work by legendary American furniture designer George Nakashima from the 20th century, known for its design that respects the natural form of the wood. It is known as a piece of furniture cherished by RM of BTS, and a George Nakashima chair was also spotted in his house. Furthermore, it gained fame as the only chair owned by the late Steve Jobs, which he kept in his living room.

Koo Jung-soon stated, "My profession is graphic designer, primarily working on the corporation's CI logos. When most people think of CI, they only consider logos, but in a broad sense, it involves research, strategy formulation, and concept development before proceeding to the design development stage. Whether it's 50 years ago or now, I sketch designs with a pencil. I must have drawn thousands of them."

Seo Jang-hoon asked, "Are you the landlord in Cheongdam-dong?" to which Koo Jung-soon replied, "At that time, the office we worked in was paying a monthly rent of 6 million won, but there was no computer there. When we had a presentation, all employees worked overnight for a week, but the building manager turned off the lights at 10 p.m.," adding, "During that time, a real estate guy kept suggesting we look at some great land."

She continued, "The land cost 2 million won for 100 pyeong, totaling 200 million won. It turned out that in three years, the land cost would break even," and she said, "I asked my parents to lend me money and immediately decided to buy it. I persuaded my parents to buy the land, and later built a building," confessing the secret to becoming the owner of a building on Cheongdam-dong's luxury street about 30 years later.

Seo Jang-hoon remarked, "If it was 2 million won per pyeong, let me elaborate. When I was two years old, I lived in Banpo and then moved to Apgujeong, so I'm quite familiar with the area. (In the late 1980s) when I was in my first year of middle school, Apgujeong was just gaining fame. As Apgujeong gradually became saturated, we started moving out, and Cheongdam-dong became the most expensive area in our country. Even if you just roughly estimate (the price of the millionaire building), at the very least, it was in 1987, and now it's 2025, so it has increased 100 times over the span of 38 years," genuinely surprising everyone.

Koo Jung-soon said, "I still haven't married. Strangely, I have not encountered any men like a matchmaker around me," bringing laughter.

Seo Jang-hoon asked, "If you stay single until the end, who will inherit your estate?" and Koo Jung-soon replied, "I am creating a foundation." Seo Jang-hoon then commented, "Don't you have any nephews or anyone? I bet they're really looking forward to it."

However, Koo Jung-soon said, "I have many nephews but a museum is not something I can pass down. I have never done financial investment through art, and I believe it can't be; I will return to society instead." expressing her conviction.

Seo Jang-hoon added, "Meeting you today made me think that I need to live more diligently. I realized that I can't go around saying I'm rich or anything like that. Today's experience humbled me and helped me find my original intention again."
