Jin of BTS has transformed into an action actor.
On the 6th at 9 p.m., the 33rd episode of the self-produced variety show "Run, Sukjin" was posted on the BTS YouTube channel, featuring Jin's challenge to become an action actor with martial arts director Jung Doo-hong.
That day, Jin appeared in a black suit, being attacked by mysterious individuals and being dragged away, opening a cinematic prologue. In an atmosphere filled with palpable tension, the place he arrived at was an action school. Jin couldn't hide his astonishment at the stunt performers' demonstrations, and even before the actual training, he drew laughter with his terrified expression.
However, contrary to his worries, Jin began to master the fundamentals of action with rapid learning and agile movements. In particular, he smoothly executed high-difficulty movements, including rotating backward while being suspended by wires, provoking admiration from director Jung Doo-hong.
Jin also challenged a one-take action scene. To match the timing with the other stunt performers, he engaged in intense practice that left viewers on the edge of their seats. He then succeeded in expressing the scene of fighting multiple opponents at a high level of quality during the main shoot.
His performance, with powerful movements and expressions, led to a strong sense of immersion, and as the shooting ended, applause erupted from those around. Director Jung Doo-hong noted, "I thought since he dances well, he would do well with body action, but I didn't expect this level. Excellent!" and did not hold back his praise for him.
Meanwhile, in the next episode of "Run, Sukjin," Jin will challenge taekwondo alongside Kang Seung-yoon of the group Winner. "Run, Sukjin" is released every Tuesday at 9 p.m. on the BTS YouTube channel, and can be enjoyed on the global superfan platform Weverse an hour later.
