"You Quiz" Jennie shared the reason she joined YG.

On the 7th, superstar Jennie, who just tore up Coachella, appeared on tvN "You Quiz on the Block" (hereafter "You Quiz").

On this day, Jennie, who had studied abroad in New Zealand for five years, revealed the catalyst for becoming a YG trainee. She said, "When I was about 14, my mom asked if I would consider studying abroad in the United States since she was also preparing for college. At that time, I realized that I needed to do what I wanted to do first, and I thought I should pursue music. I wanted to do music in Korea and I needed to join YG. Those three things were clear."

When asked why she chose YG specifically, Jennie noted, "I think my musical preferences matched well, and the seniors who were at YG were cool. I applied for the audition myself. I searched for a private audition and did it, and I got a call from the CEO right away."

However, Jennie became a trainee a month after passing the audition, but she debuted with BLACKPINK at the age of 21 after an impressive six years as a trainee. When asked if she felt anxious, Jennie said, "I had the belief that I would definitely make it. Although I had some complaints about the length of the training period, I didn't dislike it."

She continued, "I was a teenager, so I was very upset about not having any freedom. I couldn't meet friends, and whenever I went out, I would get scolded. I went to Hongdae to drink coffee and was told to come back when they asked where I was," recalling, "It was really scary. I got scolded during monthly evaluations. I was shy, so I was told to speak up."
