YouTuber Lee Jin-ho referred to Gaseyeon's press conference as a 'national scam.'
On the afternoon of the 7th, Lee Jin-ho and Eun Hyun-jang held a press conference to refute Gaseyeon's claims in Samsungdong, Gangnam, Seoul.
Earlier that day, Gaseon claimed in a press conference that Kim Sae-ron's recording shows her saying, 'I really believe what I'm saying. Please keep this. I dated Su-hyun oppa. I know it sounds crazy, but we dated from middle school and broke up later when we entered university. We started dating when we were in middle school and broke up in college.'
Later, Kim Sae-ron said, 'Those gold medalists are really scary and they do anything. You really have to keep this safe. I’ve felt like I’ve been used since middle school, and I know how I was treated since I was in middle school.' She added, 'The first time I did it with that guy was during the winter vacation of my second year of middle school. Now, looking back, I think I was taken advantage of. Not many people know this, and the reactions are the same. Everyone thinks I'm crazy, asking why I didn't just leave.'
In response, Eun Hyun-jang said, 'The materials Mr. Kim Se-yi released at today's press conference are all fabricated. I am Eun Hyun-jang, operating the YouTube channel 'God of Business.' I have suffered significant damage due to Gaseyeon and CEO Kim Se-yi over the past year. I have many questions myself. I'm sure the reporters have many questions as well.'
He then stated, 'Prior to that, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho is going to read a statement and speak,' and Lee Jin-ho took the microphone to announce that the recordings disclosed by CEO Kim Se-yi were fabricated.
Next is the full statement from Lee Jin-ho.
Hello, this is Lee Jin-ho.
I regret to bring heavy words to the journalists who have come here after much difficulty. We held this press conference to prevent further social tragedies. I ask for your understanding regarding the short notice of this press conference.
Kim Se-yi from Garosero Research Institute announced that he would hold a press conference at 2 p.m. today.
In fact, I was aware of what Kim Se-yi would reveal through previous investigations.
To prevent additional victims from arising due to Mr. Kim Se-yi's reckless exposure without minimal investigation, I must express this position.
At the center of this incident is a con artist referred to as a New Jersey scammer.
This individual is a scammer who extorts money through voice phishing and other methods.
On April 5th, this person contacted me under the name Kevin O. I later confirmed that he used another name, Carl.
It was a tip that he wanted to talk about the case involving Kim Soo-hyun.
The currency was made, and summarizing the scammer's claims at the time is as follows.
The New Jersey scammer was someone who worked in the entertainment industry and lives in the U.S. He met Kim Sae-ron by chance at a Korean bar in New Jersey last November and exchanged contact information.
Then, around January 12-13 of this year, I received a message from Kim Sae-ron asking to borrow '$4,500,' and we met at Starbucks.
Instead of writing a loan agreement, we made a voice recording. During this process, there were clear statements like 'Kim Sae-ron met Kim Soo-hyun after becoming an adult' and 'Kim Soo-hyun is a good older brother.'
At first, it was an unbelievable claim until I secured the materials.
I had another currency exchange with the New Jersey scammer around April 6, and on April 16, I secured the recording file of Kim Sae-ron sent by the New Jersey scammer.
It was surprising. It sounded just like Kim Sae-ron's voice. Even Kim Sae-ron's acquaintances could judge it to be her voice.
However, this individual astonishingly also sent recordings of calls he had with Kim Se-yi and other Gaseyeon associates.
It revealed that Kim Se-yi attempted to travel to the U.S. around April 13-14 to meet the New Jersey scammer.
I was puzzled.
So, I began to verify it. Surprisingly, the recordings were analyzed to have been created based on AI-generated voices, using additional voices and noise from a third party, namely the New Jersey scammer.
I couldn't contain my amazement at how advanced AI technology has become.
Upon checking, I found that this individual had attempted to contact not only me but also Kim Soo-hyun’s side asking for a large sum. I confirmed that Kim Soo-hyun's side ignored him after checking the recording materials.
I also judged him to be a scam artist and did not contact him afterward.
The way this individual scammed people was quite simple.
He contacted each stakeholder, listened to what they wanted, and then provided corresponding recordings.
The initial fabricated voice was merely a poor imitation. However, as Kwon Young-chan introduced materials related to the deceased's broadcasts one by one, they deep learned the voice using the AI video of Kim Sae-ron and recordings of the deceased.
As a result, it reached a stage where even acquaintances of the deceased could be fooled by voices similar to Kim Sae-ron's.
The problem was the approach and content of this New Jersey scammer. As the calls progressed, his words changed, and he reached a point where he himself would say conflicting things.
He mentioned having a three-year-old daughter at times, while at other times saying that his daughter was an aspiring singer.
I thought to myself, who could fall for a scammer like this and ignored him.
However, there was someone caught in such a trap. It was none other than Kim Se-yi.
The person who I had repeatedly demanded to conduct proper investigations and verifications, Kim Se-yi, fell for the New Jersey scammer without hesitation.
Kim Se-yi, along with attorney Bujiseok, released chat records between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron last March 2016.
However, because he could not disclose hash values through forensics, questions of manipulation arose, and he did not provide any answers to requests for 'disclosure of original materials.'
It was clear how desperate Kim Se-yi was to travel all the way to the U.S. to rely on the manipulated materials from the New Jersey scammer.
As expected, it is typical behavior for Kim Se-yi.
As far as I know, IAAN's music director and writer Son Hwa-young, along with Kim Se-yi, traveled to the U.S.
At least IAAN's director, who can perform spectrum analysis, accompanied them, making it possible to confirm that the materials were 'manipulated files.' This could have been achieved with minimal verification.
However, Kim Se-yi seems determined to make this recording material public.
I strongly suspect that he intends to disclose materials knowing they are falsely manipulated.
But that's not all. This New Jersey scammer claims to have been attacked by a person sent by Kim Soo-hyun.
Along with this, he sent photos of himself claiming to have been attacked.
Recognizing this, Mr. Kim Se-yi sent a KakaoTalk message on around April 30, stating, 'I heard from writer Son Hwa-young. The worries I've had have now become a reality. These guys are truly capable of robbery. Writer Son is trembling and called me teary-eyed. Please contact me as soon as you recover your health. I am also very worried.'
However, the photos of the alleged attack that this New Jersey scammer sent were resources easily found by simply searching on Google. They were photos from four years ago and ten years ago.
Based on such false information, he announced that he would hold a 'press conference on Kim Soo-hyun's serious crime exposure.'
He has taken it upon himself to expose falsified, manipulated content without any verification in order to kill someone.
It becomes evident once again that Kim Se-yi is not a person for whom facts are important.
After listening to Kim Se-yi's press conference, I became certain that if there exists the most shameful journalist in the world, that person is Kim Se-yi.
He is once again inciting the public with a recording that is clearly 'falsely manipulated.'
Due to Gaseyeon's false incitement, numerous parties, including Kim Gun-mo, Park Soo-hong, Han Ye-seul, Eun Hyun-jang, Jjuyang, and Lee Sun-kyun have suffered immense damage.
It is now time to stop. Gaseyeon's relentless pursuit without any minimal verification or confirmation should come to a halt before it becomes a social weapon.
I earnestly request journalists to help hold Kim Se-yi accountable for his unfounded disclosures without any responsibility.
