Director Park Dan-hee and writer Jeong Soo-yoon gave a thumbs up to the actors of 'Tastefully Yours.'
'Tastefully Yours,' which will premiere on May 12 (Mon) at 10 p.m., is a kitchen romance depicting the fierce competition between Han Beom-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul), who has become a 'recipe hunter' to inherit food corporations, and Chef Mo Yeon-joo (played by Go Min-shi), who runs a one-table restaurant in Jeonju without a sign.
As expectations rise for the tumultuous episodes and romance set in the small restaurant 'Jeongje,' attention is focused on the behind-the-scenes story of 'Tastefully Yours,' shared by director Park Dan-hee and writer Jeong Soo-yoon.
For the first time in a TV drama, 'Tastefully Yours' is invited to the Jeonju International Film Festival, garnering much attention even before its premiere. Regarding the direction of 'Tastefully Yours,' director Park Dan-hee said, "This is my first TV drama work, so it is precious and nostalgic to me. I sincerely thank you for your interest, and at the same time, I feel excited and a bit fearful." He added, "I hope that you enjoy this work, which reflects the efforts of many staff members and actors over more than two years from planning to filming and post-production."
Writer Jeong Soo-yoon noted, "The idea for the work began from that one meal shared with creator Han Jun-hee and director Park Dan-hee." He added, "Rather than a glamorous cooking competition or mukbang, I wanted to capture the story and emotions that convey 'the taste of living.' As we talked, the discussion about the work began before we even picked up our utensils, and although I don't remember the food we had that day, the 'taste' of this drama that we conceived together still lingers vividly."
Additionally, Kang Ha-neul, Go Min-shi, Kim Shin-rok, and Yoo Soo-bin humorously gave their character's synergy score, saying, "If I were to say '100% synergy,' it would be too obvious, so I want to say more honestly '392,847,163%.'" He expressed, "Thanks to all four acting more charmingly than the characters in the script, characters more three-dimensional and lively than I had imagined have come to life."
Furthermore, director Park Dan-hee highlighted a unique aspect of 'Tastefully Yours' as differing from previous works, stating, "I focused on the chemistry of the four gathered at 'Jeongje' and the love and growth that occur when they meet." He added, "Thus, the design of this space was very important. To capture the traces and processes that Chef Mo Yeon-joo has cultivated over the years in every scene, all collaborating staff, including the art director, director of photography, and lighting director, worked hard."
Finally, director Park Dan-hee commented, "The performances of all the actors who made each character shine like exclamation points were a showcase of acting. I hope you enjoy the flavors of the characters completed thanks to the efforts and performances of these actors."
Meanwhile, the Genie TV original 'Tastefully Yours' will premiere on May 12 (Mon) at 10 p.m. on ENA, and streaming will be available for free immediately after on KT Genie TV and Genie TV Mobile.
