Broadcaster Jeong Si-a appears on 'Radio Star' to reveal her daily life as the 'real manager' of her two children.
Today, the MBC variety show 'Radio Star' (abbreviated 'Ras') will feature actors Song Il-gook, Oh Min-ae, broadcaster Jeong Si-a, and singer KCM in a special episode for Parents' Day titled 'When Life Gives You Tangerines.'
Jeong Si-a married actor Baek Do-bin in 2009 and has a son and a daughter. Her eldest son, Jun-woo, is growing up as a promising basketball player, and her youngest daughter, Seo-woo, is showing talent in art and recently enrolled in 'Yewon School.' Additionally, she garnered attention by exhibiting her artwork at an LA art show at a young age.
She reveals her recent activities as a dedicated mother who has taken on the role of manager for her two children to help nurture their talents. Jeong Si-a notes, 'My husband takes care of our son, and I take care of our daughter,' discussing the division of parenting responsibilities with her husband Baek Do-bin as their children enter adolescence.
First, Jeong Si-a shares the journey of her eldest son Jun-woo, who is growing into a basketball player. After he followed a close friend's basketball test, he got cast and lost 23 kg in six weeks as he started exercising. She also shares a touching photo from the National Sports Festival. She mentions, 'These days, walking with my son feels like walking with my ideal type' and says, 'Athletes are admirable people,' recalling a time when she was pursued by an athlete, bringing laughter to the studio.
She also reveals a humorous incident regarding her credit card usage while following her son’s games across the country. Jeong Si-a explains, 'I have been staying at motels while traveling, and since there are a lot of charges for motels on my card, it might raise suspicions, but it was all because of my son's games.'
Her second daughter Seo-woo's 'art mom' life also caught attention. Jeong Si-a shared that Seo-woo submitted three works to the LA art show, two of which were sold, expressing pride in her daughter's newfound self-esteem. She recalls a time when she sharpened 100 pencils a day while preparing for the exams, saying, 'I packed 200 varied art pencils just in case one broke during the test,' which impressed MC Kim Gu-ra, who noted that her demeanor seemed brighter, possibly due to her successful children. She also shared a warm story about her father-in-law, saying, 'I thought a craftsman appeared' referring to a funny episode involving pencil sharpening.
As for her stories about packing an art kit to prepare for any situation at the exam venue—bringing tissues, handkerchiefs, and hair ties—the cast was left in admiration. Her daughter humorously added, 'Mom, just pack some diapers too.' The show will air tonight at 10:30 p.m.
