BOYNEXTDOOR has unveiled a portion of the tracks from their new album about a week ahead of their comeback.
BOYNEXTDOOR (Seong-ho, Riu, Myung-jae-hyeon, Tae-san, Lee-han, Un-hak) posted a track spoiler video for their mini album 'No Genre' on the HYBE Labels YouTube channel at 10 p.m. on the 5th.
In this video, BOYNEXTDOOR presents melodies that reflect the moods of each album track, including the title song 'I Feel Good', 'Step By Step', 'Next Mistake', 'Are You Kidding?', and '123-78'. Their appearance singing while leisurely roaming everyday spaces like a parking lot, elevator, and library also reveals their confident and free-spirited charm.
In particular, BOYNEXTDOOR's dynamic energy stands out in the title song 'I Feel Good'. The track blends a heavy bass sound, solid guitar riffs, intuitive lyrics, and vocals that alternate between rapping and singing. The lyrics such as 'frowning' and 'going crazy' stimulate curiosity about the full story of the song. Myung-jae-hyeon, Tae-san, and Un-hak participated in the song's creation, while ZICO and Pop Time contributed to producing a catchy track.
'123-78' has been described by the agency KOZ Entertainment as a song that interweaves memories of a past lover with the passage of time counting numbers. It adds a romantic atmosphere by borrowing sounds from 1960s pop soul. 'Step By Step' expresses the desire to capture the flowing seasons in a city pop style. 'Are You Kidding?' is a pop song characterized by its cheerful melody and funky rhythm, featuring a bouncy sound. 'Next Mistake' incorporates elements of the house genre into pop music, dealing with love that feels right when it is at its hottest but seems like a mistake when it cools off.
BOYNEXTDOOR's mini album 'No Genre' will be released at 6 p.m. on the 13th. The album encapsulates the aspirations of the six members to perform the music they want without confining themselves to a genre. It consists of seven tracks, including new songs 'I Feel Good', '123-78', 'Step By Step', 'Are You Kidding?', 'Next Mistake', the digital single 'I LOVE YOU' released in January, and an English version of the title track.
