Actress Lee Min-young expressed satisfaction, stating, "I seem to have changed a bit from I tendency to E tendency" through "Sololaseo."
Lee Min-young recently appeared on the SBS Plus and E Channel co-produced entertainment show "Sololaseo," gaining strong empathy from viewers with her honest daily life and charming personality. Regarding this attention, Lee Min-young noted in a written interview, "At first, I was filled with thoughts of 'Can I really do this program?' but I am grateful that viewers found it very entertaining and supported me. It has been a great source of strength."
Known for her quiet and introverted personality, Lee Min-young attracted attention as she took on small challenges to break away from extreme I (introverted). Regarding her recent state, Lee Min-young confessed, "Changing one’s natural tendency is difficult, but I believe there are parts I need to improve, and I am making efforts," adding, "It is not easy, but I am trying to change little by little."
Regarding her impressive boxing challenge, she added, "I do not have the skill to participate in official competitions, but boxing was a fresh stimulus for me, who had only engaged in static exercises. It seems like it will help with acting since it uses concentration, cardio, and strength simultaneously."
Lee Min-young also drew attention by interacting with merchants in traditional markets through "Sololaseo." She said, "The tension and warmth of that time are still vivid. I remember a cute kid who recognized me at the boxing gym and was thrilled to see me. I hope this connection will continue positively in the future."
Meanwhile, the mention of the "Gosotop" statement in the studio was another twist. Lee Min-young noted, "I don't play it these days, but it seems to have become a hot topic because the MCs responded cleverly," and added with a smile, "If I get the chance, I will reveal another hobby next time."
Lee Min-young chose Hwang Jung-eum as the guest she wants to appear with in the 'Cross.' She explained, "I really like children, and Jung-eum's sons Wang-sik and Kang-sik are so cute. I remember being comforted by Jung-eum when I was nervous during the first studio shoot."
Lee Min-young also revealed that she found the dining episode with the members of "Sololaseo" impressive. She expressed gratitude, saying, "At the dinner hosted by senior Shin Dong-yup, he shared so many witty and warm words that it remains an unforgettable memory."
Finally, Lee Min-young shared, "Since people with similar tendencies mentioned that they felt empathy and comfort, I also felt reassured that I am not alone" and added, "I sincerely thank all the viewers who supported me."
The SBS Plus and E Channel co-produced entertainment show "Sololaseo," which has garnered attention with Lee Min-young's appearance, airs every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
Below is Lee Min-young's Q&A.
Q. You captured empathy by showing your efforts to change from extreme I to E in "Sololaseo". I wonder if you are still continually making efforts afterward.
Changing one’s natural tendencies seems hard. I think, even if I can’t be fully active E, I need to improve certain aspects, so I am working hard in various ways. However, it seems more challenging than I thought. Still, I am trying to change little by little.
Q. Your boxing challenge left an impression. Are there any plans to officially compete or set goals with your coach?
I don't have the skills or talents to compete in official competitions (laughs). I usually did static exercise, but I am satisfied to have encountered boxing and learned about a wonderful sport. Boxing also engages concentration, reflexes, strength, and cardio, so I believe it will greatly help my acting. I want to continue as much as possible whenever there's a good opportunity with my coach.
Q. It was also a topic when you greeted market merchants and local residents. Have you found a real favorite place afterward? I'm curious if you have become closer to the neighborhood through "Sololaseo."
Currently, I don't have many opportunities due to shooting a drama, but the tension I felt when I first set foot in the market and the warmth I received from those I met there are still fresh. I hope the cute kid who recognized me at the boxing gym and the locals who supported me by saying they want to see me more on TV will continue to have a nice relationship with me.
Q. Your statement about the Gosotop game became a hot topic and was noted for its twist. If you have any other such secretive hobbies, do you intend to reveal them in "Sololaseo"?
I don't play the Gosotop game these days. It appears to have become a topic because the MCs responded with witty comments in the studio. It’s not a brilliant or secret hobby, but if I get the chance next time, I’ll try to reveal it.
Q. Was there a moment when you thought, 'I'm really glad I appeared on "Sololaseo"?'
At first, I had many worries and concerns like, 'Can I really do this program?' But I am truly grateful that the people around me and the viewers found it entertaining and supported me. It gave me great strength. I think it was also a huge fortune to be able to show my new sides.
Q. Various solo sisters' daily lives are still being revealed. Is there a 'solo sister' you would like to cross?
I really like children, and Wang-sik and Kang-sik are so cute. I was so nervous during the first studio shoot that I couldn't sleep all night, but I remember Jung-eum being so friendly and making me comfortable.
Q. Please share if you have any aspects you want to show more of or new challenges in the future.
For now, I am preparing a drama titled "First Lady" as my next work. As an actress, I want to portray various characters in a variety of works in the future. Although it is difficult, if given the opportunity, I would also want to show my new aspect in entertainment. I feel like I have slightly changed from I to E already.
Q. I've heard that you had a meal with the members of "Sololaseo". How is the teamwork, and do you have any memorable private anecdotes with the members?
I had enjoyable meetings with solo friends, but I particularly remember the dinner hosted by Shin Dong-yup. He is very witty and entertaining, both on and off the air. Even days later, I would often laugh while thinking about it. The wise words and advice he shared as a senior in life also remain in my memory.
Q. Please share your favorite scene in "Sololaseo" and the reason.
I saw a scene where I was simulating a phone call while taking notes, and many introverted viewers expressed empathy by saying, 'Oh my God, I’m just like that. I wasn't the only one.' Also, the editing and subtitles made me look like a cleaning warrior wearing the military shirt and goggles gifted by my niece so humorously, so those two scenes are memorable.
Q. Finally, please say a word to the viewers who supported Lee Min-young in "Sololaseo."
I received much comfort from people with similar tendencies expressing that they could relate to me, leading me to feel that I'm not alone. I want to express my gratitude once again to the viewers who supported me.
