Noh Jeong-ui and Lee Chaemin found each other through a kiss full of conviction and excitement.
In the 8th episode of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama "Crushology 101" (directed by Kim Ji-hoon, written by Seong So-eun and Lee Seul) aired on the 3rd, the relationships of the four women and men, which had been tangled messily, were sorted out, and finally, the relationship between Bani (played by Noh Jeong-ui) and Hwang Jae-yeol (played by Lee Chaemin) was perfectly defined as lovers.
After the festival, Cha Ji-won (played by Jo Jun-young) told the confused Hwang Jae-yeol that she wouldn't let him send Bani away and declared that she would now proceed forward herself. Cha Ji-won, who used to be a calm wave, became a fierce wave that shook Hwang Jae-yeol, and in response to Cha Ji-won's serious warning, Hwang Jae-yeol's anxiety deepened.
For Hwang Jae-yeol, complicated by Bani and Cha Ji-won, a homework called Han Yeoreum (played by Jeon So-young) still remained. He asked Han Yeoreum, who was hovering nearby, why she left in the past, but she only said it was to protect the two of them. However, soon after, news articles about Han Yeoreum's mother’s debt surfaced, revealing the circumstances that led to Han Yeoreum's departure. Han Yeoreum decided to leave Hwang Jae-yeol because her biological mother borrowed money from his mother, and she hadn’t talked about it out of fear of appearing pathetic to him.
Hwang Jae-yeol, who couldn't bear to leave Han Yeoreum, who had endured painful times, could only watch sadly as she tried to restore their relationship. The more he did, the more Bani's heart festered, and seeing the seemingly kind Hwang Jae-yeol and Han Yeoreum eventually made her repressed sadness boil over, leaving viewers with a bittersweet feeling.
In this way, while Bani was spending time with Cha Ji-won, she thought of Hwang Jae-yeol, and although Hwang Jae-yeol had Han Yeoreum by his side, his mind was completely occupied with thoughts of Bani. Cha Ji-won and Han Yeoreum also noticed that the other person was not looking at them, but fearing that this uneasy peace would be broken, they couldn't say anything.
As the four people, who were living in different dreams, faced the fate of having to share a table due to a mistake at the restaurant, Han Yeoreum made the situation more awkward by deliberately referring to Cha Ji-won as Bani's boyfriend, aware of the relationship between Bani and Hwang Jae-yeol. However, this acted as a trigger, exploding Hwang Jae-yeol's uneasiness and making him realize that he didn't want to delay the time he spent with Bani any longer.
Hwang Jae-yeol then firmly told Han Yeoreum that they should truly break up, knowing that their relationship had already ended but Han Yeoreum, who had been in denial, accepted Hwang Jae-yeol's heartfelt words about the breakup and shed tears.
Hwang Jae-yeol rushed after Bani, and while Cha Ji-won earnestly wished that he wouldn’t go, Bani's heart was already completely leaning towards Hwang Jae-yeol. Hwang Jae-yeol said to Bani, "I like you," a simple yet difficult line, and Bani responded to his confession with a kiss. To soothe the bitter first kiss, the two shared a second kiss, offering viewers a sleepless night.
Thanks to Bani's faith and conviction, and Hwang Jae-yeol's courage, they were able to seize the love in front of them. Although it took time, the longer it took, the more precious the other person became, and now there is growing anticipation for the two to show a campus life filled with love.
