Comedian Park Seong-kwang's wife, Lee Sol-i, revealed the aftereffects of cancer treatment.
On the 2nd, Lee Sol-i held a question-and-answer session for her subscribers through her social account. On this day, she said, "I am also in my 20s and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer this time. Thanks to you, I am really gaining a lot of strength and comfort," and she added, "The first thing I did after being diagnosed with a women's cancer was to study. Having worked at a pharmaceutical company for 10 years, I thought I knew a lot about diseases and drugs, but after the diagnosis, I felt completely lost."
She advised, "I realized that preventing the disease from progressing is extremely important; I am currently studying metabolism and hormones in graduate school. The most important thing is this: regeneration and recovery. Our body is always ready to be healthy. Treatment is tough, but once it’s over, you start fresh, and from then on, it’s about building up your health little by little."
She encouraged, "You can believe in your body's regenerative and recovery abilities, smile a lot, and live as beautifully as you've been reborn. Let's live long and healthy."
In response to a question about recommendations for wigs or tips for care during treatment and diet, Lee Sol-i recalled, "During treatment, I lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes, my hands turned black, and all the dividing cells in my body were destroyed, so it was really a mess. If you get stomatitis, it does not regenerate. If you get a wound, it doesn't heal. My immune level was worse than that of a newborn, so I couldn't even go outside."
She continued, "Even so, I had such a strong attachment to my daily life that I fitted and wore a really pretty wig, and I think I tried very hard to maintain my health by applying nail and eyelash supplements even during treatment. The eyelash supplement was especially helpful. Other things, like wigs, were fine, but I had to protect my eyelashes and eyebrows for sure..."
Meanwhile, Lee Sol-i married comedian Park Seong-kwang in 2020. Last month, she shocked many by belatedly confessing her battle with cancer through her social account. After undergoing six months of surgery and cytotoxic chemotherapy, she said, "I am still taking medication and am in treatment," and explained, "I completed surgery and chemotherapy about three years ago under the protection of my family, and currently, I am receiving regular check-ups with a diagnosis that there are no cancer cells in my body. I believe I am healthy, but I am still taking chemotherapy drugs, so the doctors always say I need to be cautious and vigilant."
