(Following interview ①) Director Yoo Soo-min of 'Weak Hero Class 2' mentioned the charm of actor Lee Joon-young.

On the 1st, an interview with directors Yoo Soo-min and Han Joon-hee of the Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 2' took place at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.

'Weak Hero Class 2' is a story about a model student, Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon), who transferred to Eunjanggo with the trauma of having faced violence for a friend but ultimately failing to protect them, determined not to lose a friend again while fighting against greater violence.

On that day, Director Yoo Soo-min and the executive producer, Director Han Joon-hee, shared behind-the-scenes insights about casting Lee Joon-young, who made a strong impression with his special appearance as Kim Seong-je.

Director Han noted, "I first met actor Joon-young, invited him to eat, and showed him the script. He said, 'I think it's interesting,' and then I said it was for the role of Kim Seong-je. The director was nearby, and Director Yoo came right over. We were already very close with actor Lee Joon-young," he began.

He continued, "Many actors that I suggested for casting were declined by Director Yoo, but actor Lee Joon-young matched the director's taste. In works like 'DP' and 'Mask Girl,' Joon-young had acted in similar roles before, but this time, he was described as a somewhat cool delinquent. He’s the kind of delinquent that people would say acts well."

In response, Director Yoo said, "I was waiting nearby and when Director Han said, 'I think Joon-young has come over,' I took a taxi right away and went. It seemed like actor Joon-young already knew the original work. When I asked him what kind of character he thought Kim Seong-je was, he casually said, 'cool.' It helped me a lot in understanding the character," expressing his gratitude.

Director Yoo stated, "When you see actor Lee Joon-young, he has a certain decadence, he’s sexy, but also innocent and cute — he has many faces." He added, "Doesn't Kim Seong-je come out as unpredictable? Thanks to actor Lee Joon-young, I think various charms blended together, creating a single charm."

In particular, Director Yoo admired, "When filming action scenes, most people throw punches and their waists only rotate to a certain extent. But I have never seen someone whose legs turn as well. His posture looked like an athlete’s. Even off-screen, he was using his legs." Director Han humorously added, "So I asked him not to participate in competitions. You’re an actor, not an athlete."
