Actress Li Won, currently appearing on the lesbian entertainment program 'Your Dating,' is embroiled in controversy after allegations arose that she made inappropriate suggestions to a participant, following her past involvement in adult broadcasts. In response, Li Won personally expressed her stance and reiterated her apology.
On the 1st, participant Han Gyeol stated on her social media about Li Won, "There was no romantic feeling between Li Won and me during the filming. We only interacted as friends, and even after the broadcast, we were just exchanging greetings." She continued, "I received a suggestion to go abroad together afterward, but I thought it was just a simple travel invitation. However, as specific mentions of dining dates followed, I felt it was crossing the line and clearly refused."
Han Gyeol also added, "I heard that I am not the only one who received such a suggestion. While they said they had settled their past, I think it's unfair that they hid that fact and tried to persuade others."
In response, Li Won clarified, "The mention of overseas schedules came up naturally while we were talking about food preferences during filming," stating, "It was something said while smiling in front of the camera and wasn't a serious suggestion." She supported her position by revealing a captured message of that conversation.
In the released message, she expressed, "I am sorry for participating in the broadcast itself. I will communicate about the editing with the producer. I was sorry to appear on the show with such a past, and I am still sorry."
Li Won added, "The broadcasts I participated in were definitely inappropriate and deserve to be criticized. I sincerely apologize to those who felt uncomfortable because of it. After the show ends, I will no longer engage in media activities in Korea. I will not cause discomfort to anyone again."
She also stated, "I apologize to the other participants who have courageously appeared on this program and to the production team who have tirelessly worked for sexual minorities, and I again apologize to the viewers who just wanted to quietly watch the show for creating disturbances."
'Your Dating' is a reality program depicting the romantic relationships of female lesbians. However, controversy has continued over Li Won's past as a BJ in adult broadcasts and allegations surrounding her sexual orientation of having dated men.
Li Won acknowledged, "From 2016 to 2024, I had conducted private content broadcasts three times, totaling about three years," and explained, "There were a total of six dining dates during the broadcasts, all of which were wholesome, and there was no physical contact."
Regarding her sexual identity, she stated, "I am a woman who loves women. I first became aware of my sexual orientation during middle school, and my first serious relationship was with a woman. Later, I dated men amidst confusion."
