Vocalist K.Will (real name: Kim Hyung-soo) looked into the marriage life of a baseball player couple.
K.Will shared a new episode of 'Auntie I Know' on his YouTube channel 'Auntie is K.Will' on the 30th of last month.
Self-proclaimed 'baseball addict' K.Will invited Sung Min-jung, wife of former Lotte Giants outfielder Kim Moon-ho, on that day. Sung Min-jung, who became famous for her dance at the baseball park and is currently active as a YouTuber, greeted, "My main job is raising two sons, and I’m so happy to be recognized for my big screen dance as a keen attention seeker." K.Will expressed admiration, saying, "It feels like I'm watching a celebrity."
Sung Min-jung stated that it was not the first time she gained attention for dancing, revealing that it became an issue when Kim Moon-ho was promoted to the first team. As a result, their dating fact was leaked, and since there were no cases of a baseball player's girlfriend or wife dancing that way back then, they argued over it. When K.Will speculated that Kim Moon-ho, who had just entered the first team, might have reacted sensitively due to the strong vertical relationship culture in baseball, Sung Min-jung agreed, saying, "The culture was conservative, and after marrying, I also lived quietly."
Sung Min-jung and Kim Moon-ho, who have opposite personalities, revealed that they first met as a college student and a soldier. Sung Min-jung stated that she had no interest in baseball, but after exchanging contact information with Kim Moon-ho during his last vacation, they naturally developed a connection through a meal. Sung Min-jung, who said they dated for 7 years, boldly stated, "We have broken up and gotten back together many times during our relationship. Now, if we break up, it’s divorce. We can’t break up."
Sung Min-jung mentioned that Kim Moon-ho struggles with her high energy, revealing that he is someone who remains expressionless until his anger subsides during conflicts. She shared that they write down what they want from each other or what to keep while waiting to reconcile, narrating vivid experiences. She concluded with the statement, "Marriage is patience." Additionally, she said, "In the early days of marriage, we were busy talking about the tough things, but now we understand each other's difficulties and support one another. Since we have the goal of raising our child well, our arguments have decreased," which resonated with many.
Sung Min-jung also revealed her life as a baseball player's wife. She expressed, "It's not easy to get recognized in the professional league. Right after my husband was released, I was so worried that I even sent a DM to the production company of the drama 'Stove League' that was airing at the time, asking to be cast as an extra. Many players earn just enough during their professional careers to live off for a lifetime, but there are many cases where they cannot earn enough and get released. It hurt my feelings when people, not knowing this, would leave negative comments asking, ‘Did you marry for money?’" Displaying deep feelings for her husband, Sung Min-jung revealed that she proactively seized the opportunity to appear in a baseball variety show when it arose, eliciting a touch of emotion.
Sung Min-jung, who shared her diverse marriage stories, emphasized that 'trust' is the most important virtue between couples. She stated, "Trust is essential, regardless of gender. Once trust is broken, it’s hard to restore it." K.Will remarked, "I felt like I heard the most 'real' married life stories. It was very entertaining."
