Singer Hwang Min-ho of 'The Return of Superman' revealed an unexpected friendship with child actor Oh Ji-yul.
In the episode aired on the 30th of KBS2TV's entertainment program 'The Return of Superman' (hereinafter referred to as 'Superman returns'), the family of Woo Hye-rim visiting their home in Hong Kong and the Hwang Min-woo brothers heading to an event in Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, were featured.
Hye-rim showcased her luxurious home, which has a gym, indoor swimming pool, outdoor swimming pool, and indoor sports hall. Park Soo-hong exclaimed, 'Woo Hye-rim had a golden spoon!' Hye-rim humbly stated, 'This is the house my parents bought when the property prices collapsed during the IMF crisis. That house has now increased tenfold.'
Her mother, Gong Jeong-ran, drew attention by saying, 'Still, our house is a large area. Doesn't it have three rooms and two bathrooms?' She continued, 'I used to use the window side as a desk, and I checked the results of the JYP audition sitting there,' introducing her room. Looking at her currently crowded room with a bed, Hye-rim still had the youthful face of her girlhood.
Her mother, Gong Jeong-ran, revealed, 'This room was originally Hye-rim's bedroom. Shin Min-cheol also stayed here before. But now it has become a dress room.' Additionally, the parents' bedroom was originally Hye-rim's practice room.
Mother Gong Jeong-ran reminisced, 'Watching Si-woo play in the dojo reminds me of when we lived in the dojo. We paid 10 million won each month 30 years ago for rent, which included house rent, dojo rent, and various expenses. At that time, we couldn't endure it, so we lived in a taekwondo dojo, using the bathroom instead of the kitchen.'
Hye-rim cheerfully recalled, 'I remember those times. At night, I heard rats squeaking from the ceiling. The sound of them passing by.' This was something that pained her parents even more.
Father Woo Jong-pil said, 'We were financially struggling at that time, so I sent our eldest son to stay with his grandfather in the countryside and cried.' He continued, 'I sent my 8-year-old son to his grandfather when he was in elementary school. When we went, I would take him to the school gate and tap the ground as we walked, but he never looked back. I cried a lot seeing that.' However, Woo Jong-pil, now operating five dojos in Hong Kong with his son, has firmly established himself as a taekwondo instructor, garnering admiration from everyone.
Meanwhile, Hwang Min-woo boasted about his connection with child actor Oh Ji-yul. In the show, Hwang Min-woo courageously said, 'Did you just become 5th grade? Didn't you want to see me?' Oh Ji-yul asked, 'Oppa, can we go out together?' and Hwang Min-woo replied, 'Sure, let's go eat together next time,' appearing somewhat flustered.
