SBS anchor Yoon Hyun-jin's younger brother and actor Yoon Jong-hwa and actor Shin Go-eun have decided to walk their separate paths after three years of marriage. The two were a 'celebrity couple' who became connected through a drama, and fellow actors are cautiously expressing their sorrow.
Shin Go-eun announced the divorce directly on her social media on the 1st. She opened up saying, “I have hesitated for a long time about whether to write this, but since there are those who are curious, I feel like I should let this part of my life be known, so I am leaving this short message.”
She continued, “It has been half a year since we ended our three years of marriage and started living our own lives. Our values and personalities were very different, and although we made a lot of efforts, it ultimately did not work out.” She added, “In the future, both of us have decided to live harder in our respective places. I feel deeply sorry to deliver this news to those who blessed us.”
Fellow actors, upon hearing the news, cautiously conveyed their support. Choi Kwang-je said, “There are always supportive colleagues,” Seo Ye-seul stated, “I support you, sister,” and Choi Yoon-young said, “I will always support and love you, my friend.”
Yoon Jong-hwa and Shin Go-eun first became connected through the MBC daily drama 'Bad Love,' which aired in 2019. After a year of dating following the drama’s conclusion, they held their wedding in 2021. They were the second drama couple to emerge after actors Jeon Seung-bin and Shim Eun-jin, who teamed up in 'Bad Love.'
At the time, the two expressed, “After a long time together, we felt that our trust and values were aligned, which led us to decide on marriage,” and received many blessings, but ultimately decided to end their marriage after about three years. After spending six months quietly following the divorce, she directly clarified her stance and expressed her sincere feelings.
Shin Go-eun debuted as a singer in 2011 and has continued her acting career through musicals such as 'Gung,' 'The Days,' and 'I Loved.' Later, she also appeared in several dramas, including 'The Lady in Dignity,' 'Gangnam Scandal,' and 'Secret Woman.'
Yoon Jong-hwa debuted in 2005 with the drama 'Love Song,' appearing in numerous works such as 'The World They Live In' and 'You Are Too Much.' In 2015, he was diagnosed with spinal cancer during the filming of 'Love of Eve,' but after recovery, he made a comeback with 'THE K2' a year later, demonstrating resilience.
As the two, who were once companions in life and as actors, chose to part ways, the public and colleagues are supporting the future of both.
