Actress Goo Hye-sun (40) is set to launch the "expanding hair roller."
On the 29th of last month, Goo Hye-sun posted a message on her Instagram account, saying, "The expanding hair roller is set to launch soon. In the midst of a heated meeting," along with photos and videos. Goo Hye-sun is currently pursuing a Master of Engineering degree at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in the graduate program for science journalism.
In the released videos and photos, Goo Hye-sun can be seen meeting with a KAIST researcher and sketching designs for the "expanding hair roller." Unlike the traditional round hair rollers, this hair roller has a rectangular flat shape. It can be bent to the desired size and made into a cylindrical shape.
Previously, Goo Hye-sun revealed in January on the MBC variety show "Radio Star" that she had registered a patent for the "expanding hair roller." At that time, she explained that seeing the hair rollers made her think, "Why are they always that shape? Isn't it inconvenient to carry around?" which led her to create one.
She further noted, "Carrying several hair rollers makes them bulky," adding, "This can easily fit into a card wallet or anywhere else."
Goo Hye-sun paused her studies due to activities in the entertainment industry but re-enrolled at Sungkyunkwan University in 2020 and graduated as the top student in February of last year. She was accepted into the KAIST graduate school in June of the same year. She is currently affiliated with the KAIST Social Science and Future Strategy Lab.
