Singer Yoo Seung-jun (Steve Yoo) directly refuted rumors surrounding him.
Recently, rumors spread online and among some Korean communities that Yoo Seung-jun has been performing at nightclubs in the Los Angeles area. The post's author claimed that Yoo Seung-jun still introduces himself as 'Korea's superstar', sings his past hit 'Na Na Na', and spends his days surfing, skateboarding, and working out.
However, regarding this, Yoo Seung-jun strongly refuted on the 30th through his social media, saying, "100% false from beginning to end." He dismissed most of the rumors, stating, "I have never worked nights, never sung 'Na Na Na', and never said I was Korea's superstar."
He continued, "I have never surfed in California, nor have I skateboarded. I have never worn a Bart Simpson t-shirt, and it’s only true that I exercised while wearing a hat," specifically clarifying his points. He expressed discomfort, saying, "It hurts to have to respond to such nonsensical writings."
He expressed his self-esteem to those who still remember him as 'Yoo Seung-jun', saying, "There’s no need for me to explain who I was. I am still Yoo Seung-jun." He also stated, "Stop the lies and the discord. It’s a scary society. Someone has to die for it to end..." expressing his dissatisfaction in a strong tone. Lastly, he remarked, "Where exactly is that nightclub? If I had known it would be like this, I should have done something back then," revealing his bitterness.
Meanwhile, Yoo Seung-jun has been banned from entering Korea since he acquired U.S. citizenship in 2002 amid military service evasion controversies. He has filed several visa issuance lawsuits, and although he won a final victory in the Supreme Court last year, the Los Angeles Consulate General still refuses to grant him a visa.
