Director Park Hee-gon experienced health issues last year and had been recovering, but his sudden death is deeply mourned.

Born in 1969, Director Park Hee-gon, who previously worked as a commercial film director, first took the megaphone in 2009 with the film "Insa-dong Scandal." He gained attention for the 2011 film "Perfect Game," depicting the legendary matchup between Korean professional baseball players Choi Dong-won and Sun Dong-ryul, and in 2018, his film "Myeongdang," which illustrated a power struggle in the Joseon Dynasty based on feng shui, attracted 2.08 million viewers.

In 2023, he released his last film "Target." "Target" is a realistic thriller centered around second-hand transaction crimes, featuring actors Shin Hye-sun, Kim Sung-kyun, and Lim Sung-jae.

Meanwhile, Director Park Hee-gon's funeral hall has been set up in Room 5 at Myongji Hospital in Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si. The funeral service is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. on the 2nd, and the burial place is Seoul Metropolitan Cemetery.
