Sungmin of the group Super Junior has left SM Entertainment and has taken a new nest at Total Set Entertainment.

On the 30th, SM Entertainment stated, "We inform you that the exclusive contract of our artist Sungmin has expired."

SM noted, "We express our gratitude to Sungmin, who has been with us for over 20 years, since his trainee days and throughout his career as an artist," and added, "We will continue to support Sungmin's music activities and new beginnings."

Sungmin, who debuted in 2005 as a member of Super Junior, temporarily halted team activities after marrying musical actress Kim Sa-eun in 2014. He has been active as a solo artist since 2019 and began a new challenge as a trot singer in 2023.

Accordingly, Sungmin is expected to focus on his activities as a trot singer after signing an exclusive contract with Total Set, which includes various trot singers such as Jinseong, Park Gun, Ahn Seong-hoon, Han Hye-jin, Hong Ja, Jeong Da-kyung, Oh Yoo-jin, and Lee Soo-yeon.

On that day, Sungmin expressed on his social media, "In December 2000, I entered the SM audition room filled with courage and dreams. The middle school 3rd grader I was then is now concluding a long journey with SM. For me, SM was like a teacher, family, and friend in my life. The more than 20 years I spent there was truly a great gift. I sincerely express my deep gratitude to everyone who has been with me during that time."

He continued, "Now, having a new dream, I am once again at the starting line. I will sincerely walk the given path with the Total Set Entertainment family who will be with me on this new journey, without losing my original intentions."

Finally, he stated, "With heartfelt songs and performances, I will surely repay your support. In the future, I will continue to move forward deeply and steadily, step by step."
