Bae Doona showcased her chemistry with actor Kim Yoon-seok.

On the 30th, an interview with Bae Doona regarding the film 'Virus' was held at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.

Based on the original novel 'Youth Extreme Crisis', the film 'Virus' (directed by Kang Yi-gwan, distributed by BiPoem Studio Co., Ltd., produced by The Lamp Co., Ltd.) tells the story of 'Taek-seon', who is infected with a 100% lethal virus that makes one fall in love for no reason, and his unexpected journey with 'Su-pil' (played by Son Suk-ku), a 'mo-sol' researcher, an old classmate 'Yeon-woo' (played by Jang Ki-ha), and the only expert capable of creating a cure, 'Lee-gyun' (played by Kim Yoon-seok).

Bae Doona, who played the role of 'Ok Taek-seon', passionately delivered her performance and confessed about her reason for choosing the project, saying, "To be honest, the big allure for me was acting alongside senior Kim Yoon-seok. After more than 20 years in acting, I have never collaborated with him, so I felt a sense of urgency that this was an opportunity."

Speaking of Kim Yoon-seok, with whom she actually acted, she noted, "It was really good. What I wanted to do with senior was the movie 'Dark Figure of Crime'. In that film, he worked a lot with Ju Ji-hoon, and while I know Ji-hoon, I thought, 'Wow, he really makes it comfortable.' Actors know this, but because the fellow actor creates that atmosphere, the performance can come out better. At that moment, I became curious about senior Yoon-seok's acting and wanted to share the stage with him."

She continued, "Experiencing it through actual acting was obviously amazing and very creative. Whether it's improvisation or slightly changing lines, there were moments that felt 'creative' and 'spot on.' Observing how he perceives the story and the different perspective he brings, it was clear that his judgment regarding interpretation and direction is very precise, which I noticed and felt greatly. I don't think I have the capability to learn from him."

Additionally, she mentioned, "Before this project, I did a solo Kim Yoon-seok film festival. I watched about ten films, three a day. I saw everything that senior Yoon-seok appeared in. While some were deep and dark, I really liked 'The Drug King'. I saw how senior was able to perform high comedy in films like 'Miracle in Cell No. 7'. So I really trusted and was able to choose this project. I feel like there's a lineage of Kim Yoon-seok's comedy. It’s not just light; it’s this subtle black comedy that evokes chuckles. That's my taste."

When asked, "If you could collaborate with Kim Yoon-seok again, what kind of relationship would you like to have?" Bae Doona laughed and replied, "This time I played a character that was really protected, so next time I would like to be a character that gets bullied. Something like a tic-tac-toe relationship. It would be really fun."
