Sooyoung said she has been working hard since her teenage years.
On the 28th, actress Jin Seoyeon grants, invited her close friends, actors Um Moonseok and Sooyoung, to share stories on Channel A's "Close Friends Documentary – A Table for Four" (hereafter A Table for Four).
Sooyoung said she debuted in Japan at the age of 12 in 2002. She revealed that she participated in a major Japanese audition featuring groups like Morning Musume and debuted as a Japanese-Korean female duo. Sooyoung, who said she worked for three years, noted, "I also did modeling because things weren’t working out. I started Girls' Generation at 17," indicating she did a lot from her teenage years.
Jin Seoyeon praised Girls' Generation, saying, "The performances change with each song. It was so much fun to watch that." Um Moonseok added, "Everyone did so well in their respective positions. If it was entertainment, they nailed it; if it was acting, they nailed it. It felt like the Avengers."
Sooyoung recalled, "The average trainee period was seven years. How hungry were we? It became a habit to always do my best whenever I took on something. I had to come in first if I participated in any competition program. Back then, it was truly a jungle. I remember Kang Hodong and Yoo Jaeseok asking, 'Why are you working so hard?' Looking back now, it was so much fun."
Sooyoung said, "When I returned after finishing my activities in Japan, I was a sophomore in high school. My mom and dad also said, 'If you don’t succeed this year, you need to prepare for college entrance exams.' At that time, I turned my gaze to acting. I auditioned for all the roles in high school. There was an audition for the film 'Fool' by writer Kang Pool. I happened to see the audition announcement and went for it. I was so upset when I didn’t get in, so I emailed writer Kang Pool. Luckily, I went on to debut in Girls' Generation. Then, I was cast in a supporting role for 'A Pure Love Story.' After that, I sent another email saying, 'Do you remember me?' Eventually, we met at a party," reminiscing about her proactive past.
