Actor Choi Jung-won, from the duo group UN, appeared in person at the second trial regarding the charges of an extramarital affair. However, apart from attending the trial, she remains silent about her activities.

On the 29th, the Seoul Family Court held the second argument date for the lawsuit seeking 100 million won in damages against Choi Jung-won. According to a media report, it is known that Choi Jung-won, who had been absent from the previous litigation, appeared in person.

Choi Jung-won has been embroiled in allegations of an extramarital affair for several years. A claimed that Choi Jung-won had an inappropriate relationship with his wife since December 2022 and filed a lawsuit in February 2023. However, Choi Jung-won refuted the allegations, stating through social media and the press that she had known A's wife as a sister since childhood and they had only met on three occasions after reestablishing contact after a long time.

During this process, it was revealed that A and his wife were going through divorce proceedings. In response, A's wife denied the allegations of an affair with Choi Jung-won through her personal social media, arguing that her husband, A, used their relationship to gain an advantage in the divorce lawsuit.

However, in the first-instance ruling of the divorce lawsuit for A and his wife conducted last December, the court stated that the primary responsibility for the marriage breakdown lies with A's wife, and she was ordered to pay 30 million won in damages for violating her marital fidelity obligation. In this regard, the court determined that A's wife had lied about meeting another friend to meet Choi Jung-won, and that she had claimed to be taking their child out while leaving their child alone at a gaming center to work out with Choi Jung-won, which exacerbated the couple's conflicts.

However, A's wife is currently appealing the decision. Choi Jung-won's side is also actively responding to the lawsuit for damages regardless of A and his wife's divorce lawsuit, even going as far as changing attorneys. They also attempted to request A's wife as a witness in the damage compensation lawsuit, but it was dismissed.

Choi Jung-won debuted in 2000 as part of the male duo group UN with singer and actor Kim Jeong-hoon. UN was loved for hit songs such as "Gift" and "Wave," and Choi Jung-won also appeared on entertainment programs like "Destined with You" thanks to her height of 186 cm and charm. After the disbandment of UN, she transitioned to acting, playing lead and supporting roles in dramas, including "Totta! Family," "Just Like You," "The Time I Loved You," "Shining Eun-soo," "Vogue Mom," and "Warning: Do Not Fall in Love." Her most recent work was the drama "Senior, Don’t Apply Lipstick" which aired in 2021.
