Actress Kwak Seon-Young has marked her 20th anniversary since her debut.

Kwak Seon-Young has received much love for her solid acting skills and unique characters in numerous works such as the drama "Hospital Playlist," "Surviving as a Celebrity Manager," and "Crash." The concept of this photoshoot with Cosmopolitan was to capture the confident and charming actress Kwak Seon-Young herself. Upon entering the shooting location with a lovely smile, Kwak impressed the staff with her unique presence and aura as soon as filming began.

After the photoshoot, an interview was conducted. First, Kwak Seon-Young shared her feelings about marking her 20th anniversary. "People around me are saying that this year marks my 20th anniversary. However, I feel like those 20 years have passed in an instant. There were times when time seemed to drag on and times when it flew by, but looking back now, it feels like just a momentary scene," she said. This year, to mark her 20th anniversary, Kwak Seon-Young also made her film debut with "Intrusion" and "Lobby." Regarding this, she expressed humility, saying, "Making movies was something I definitely wanted to do, but I didn't expect to encounter such great works. I'm grateful to have been able to release two films back-to-back."

Through "Intrusion" and "Lobby," Kwak Seon-Young demonstrated her versatility by showing two opposite faces at a similar time. "Being able to act out various characters is a great fortune for me as an actress. Particularly in the work "Intrusion," many people have praised me for showing a new side of myself, but I honestly don't know. I tend to focus on whether I performed my role well, so I may not be fully aware of how I appear in the work. However, seeing myself on the screen, I realized that small movements of the eyes and subtle breaths convey the character's psychological state more effectively," she noted.

When asked about the sense of empathy she felt through her character 'Young-Eun' in "Intrusion," who is both an actress and a mother, Kwak Seon-Young mentioned, "I felt really sorry for Young-Eun. Her daughter 'So-Hyun' has a mother who can take care of her. Of course, Young-Eun also has a mother, but her attitude toward trying to understand Young-Eun's situation wasn't really there. I wonder how lonely she must have felt alone."

In response to a question about whether Kwak Seon-Young is a cheerful and brave woman, she shared, "Not long ago, I had a gathering with my college classmates. One classmate, who remembers me from 20 years ago, said that I was always a cheerful and brave friend. Thinking about it, I feel like I always faced everything courageously. These days, I'm taking up ice hockey as a hobby, and just standing on the ice can be scary. However, I believe that I can overcome it since that allows me to do what I want. This way, I can move on to the next stage as well."

The characters that actress Kwak Seon-Young has portrayed, such as 'Lee Ik-Soon' in "Hospital Playlist," 'Na Je-Hee' in "Gu-Kyung-Ee," and 'Cheon Jae-In' in "Surviving as a Celebrity Manager," also resemble Kwak's solid inner self. In this regard, Kwak Seon-Young remarked, "Thinking about it, it's really true! They are all characters who live their lives earnestly and bravely. They have clear goals and thus worked harder. Although there's always a big hurdle in their lives (laughter), that's probably why people remember actress Kwak Seon-Young through various characters." When asked about the characters she looks forward to meeting in the future, Kwak expressed her enthusiasm by saying, "I want to try everything. Just like how the sound of the same piano changes depending on who plays it, if I can portray a character more vividly, I think I can do any role."
