The male duo Melomance, known for admitting their discord, is returning with a new mini-album.
Melomance will release their eighth mini-album, 'Romance Express,' today at 6 p.m. through various music streaming sites. This comeback marks Melomance's return after 1 year and 11 months since the release of 'Brilliant Day' in May 2023.
'Romance Express' is an album that captures six songs that lead to Melomance's unique sensibility as if embarking on a romantic train journey. Through these six tracks themed around 'love' and 'dreams,' it shares the romance found in forgotten daily life.
In particular, Melomance participated in the lyrics and composition of all tracks, creating a comprehensive gift set for fans, and listeners will be able to experience an expanded musical world.
The first track and title song announcing the start of 'Romance Express,' 'Any Day Surprise,' is a song that unfolds like a drama, depicting how ordinary days can become special as long as the couple is together. The melody, flowing like a refrain over the violin and piano melodies and swing rhythms, brings forth the excitement and lightness of a spring day.
Following that, the song 'It's Okay, I Love You,' which contains Melomance's heartfelt comfort and confession that they will love you as you are, is featured, along with Jung Dong-hwan's instrumental piece 'Blooming,' beautifully expressing the moment flowers bloom in spring with strings and piano trio. The song 'Petals' delicately portrays the moments of love budding in the heart, as if reading a poem. 'Our Toast' illustrates a simple yet brilliant scene of a night with a jazzy swing rhythm, luxurious brass, and lively piano in 12/8 time. Finally, 'Your Way' serves as Melomance's supportive anthem for dreamers and everyone walking toward their dreams. The album includes six rich and diverse tracks crossing different genres.
Previously, Melomance attracted attention by releasing a teaser video for the title track 'Any Day Surprise' on their official YouTube channel on the 28th. It depicted adorable couples enjoying small dates in everyday life, and the bright, hopeful melody of the song harmonized with the warm emotions of spring, evoking excitement. The full music video will be released today at 6 p.m. along with the album, and a surprise appearance by members Kim Min-seok and Jung Dong-hwan is anticipated to bring some extra fun.
Through 'Romance Express,' Melomance plans to showcase their musical colors extensively and open a new horizon for the 'Melomance pop' genre. As it is being released to welcome the warm spring, it is expected to receive much love as a representative song of the sweet spring season.
After the release of the new album, Melomance will kick off their 2025 Melomance Nationwide Tour Concert 'Romance Station' from May 23 to 25 at Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul. Starting from Seoul, they will meet fans in 10 cities including Busan, Goyang, Ulsan, Suwon, Changwon, Seongnam, Daegu, Daejeon, and Gwangju. This will be an opportunity to experience the tracks from the new mini-album live, generating high expectations.
