The group EPEX is expanding its global influence by confirming a solo performance in China.
EPEX (Wish, Geum Dong-hyun, Mu, Amin, Baek Seung, Aiden, Yeh Wang, Jeff) will hold its 2025 solo concert "春乏 in 福州" (Youth Scarcity in Fuzhou) at the MAAQUU X CH8 livehouse in Fuzhou, China, on May 31.
This solo concert is special as it marks EPEX's first local performance in China. EPEX, all of whose members are South Korean nationals, has confirmed its first solo performance in China after 9 years since the 2016 Korean Wave regulations. Previously, idol groups or hip-hop artists from other nationalities have performed in China, but EPEX has emerged as a new leader in the K-pop wave within China as the first all-South Korean idol group to break through the continent.
In fact, EPEX has been making efforts to communicate with its Chinese fans in various ways since its debut. The group previously collaborated with Chinese magazines for photo shoots and interviews, and in January of this year, held fan signing events in Shanghai and Qingdao, garnering significant interest. This solo concert is yet another achievement in their efforts in China.
EPEX has been proving its global influence by continuing its "Youth Scarcity" concert tour across Asia, starting in Seoul last December. In May, the group plans to present new repertoire from "Youth Scarcity" on the 3rd in Macau, the 24th in Taipei, and the 31st in Fuzhou.
Last year, EPEX officially launched a trilogy of regular albums, successfully releasing two albums: "소화(韶華) 1장 : 청춘 시절" (Sohwa: Chapter 1 - Youth Period) and "소화(韶華) 2장 : 청춘 결핍" (Sohwa: Chapter 2 - Youth Scarcity). Through this "Youth Scarcity" tour, they showcase new songs like "청춘에게" (To Youth) and "UNIVERSE" along with various arrangements and performances, creating well-made stages that have garnered acclaim from fans worldwide.
"春乏 in 福州" (Youth Scarcity in Fuzhou), which expands EPEX's youthful sensibility, will be held on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. CST.
Meanwhile, EPEX is currently in discussions about holding solo performances in other regions of China, and on May 6 at 6 p.m., they will release the collaboration single "so nice" with U.S. retro synth-pop artist Joan, making their limitless global activities increasingly noteworthy.
