Actor Jo Jung-seok made a strong impression with a special appearance in "Weak Hero Class 2."
The Netflix series "Weak Hero Class 2" (written by Park Hyun-woo and Yoo Soo-min, directed by Yoo Soo-min, produced by Han Jun-hee, abbreviated as "Weak Hero 2"), which premiered on the 25th, portrays the harrowing survival story and brilliant growth of model student Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon), who transfers to Eun-Jang-go, carrying the trauma of having fought against violence for a friend but ultimately being unable to protect them, facing larger violence to ensure he never loses another friend.
In this, Jo Jung-seok made a special appearance as CEO Choi, the administrator of the enormous delinquent alliance led by Na Baek-jin (Bae Na-ra), and left a deep impression. In particular, CEO Choi’s overpowering of Na Baek-jin, the leader of the delinquent alliance, provided a strong impact. He firmly warned Na Baek-jin, who was causing trouble related to the alliance, saying, "If you come again, you’re dead."
At this moment, Jo Jung-seok's detailed performance, which controlled not only his stone-cold expression and icy tone but also the slight tremors of his facial muscles, evoked even deeper empathy. Thus, Jo Jung-seok perfectly embodied the role of CEO Choi, the "axis of evil," and despite being a special appearance, radiated overwhelming presence, crafting CEO Choi into a more compelling character.
Since then, Jo Jung-seok has garnered acclaim for his versatile comedic performances in dramas such as "Jealousy Incarnate," "Oh My Ghost," and "Hospital Playlist" after making an impression on the public with his film "Architecture 101." Coincidentally, as the series work of "Hospital Playlist," titled "Resident Playbook," is currently airing, nostalgia for Jo Jung-seok’s comedic acting has also been ignited.
However, Jo Jung-seok has shown transformation through his bold performance in the previous drama "Sajang, Bewitched Ones" and once again radiated overwhelming presence in "Weak Hero 2." The audience is looking forward to Jo Jung-seok’s next steps which showcase his character play changes, even in a special appearance.
