Lee Min-jae is growing into a highly anticipated talent.

Recently, Lee Min-jae's growth has been remarkable. Without limiting himself to specific genres, Lee has jumped into various works, garnering attention from viewers with his incredible focus and character interpretation in everything from comedy to action and romance.

He recently appeared in the Netflix hit ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ (written by Park Hyun-woo and Yoo Soo-min, directed by Yoo Soo-min, and produced by Han Jun-hee) in the role of 'Ko Hyun-tak', leaving a strong impact in every scene he appears in.

#1 I only look ahead! A character whose loyalty makes him a mere corpse, ‘Ko Hyun-tak’

Lee Min-jae's character 'Ko Hyun-tak' is a former taekwondo athlete who lives and dies by loyalty. An action-oriented character who acts before thinking, he made his first appearance rushing in like the wind to mediate a fight during class.

After the fight incident, Hyun-tak, feeling interest toward Yang Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), firmly told a group that spread rumors, saying, "Let's not talk behind people's backs based on unverified rumors," emitting charisma. His low voice and steady gaze instantly marked who 'Ko Hyun-tak' is, even in a short episode.

#2 The strength to overcome fear. ‘Friendship’

Having a past where he had to quit taekwondo after injuring his knee due to Geum Seong-jae (played by Lee Jun-young), Hyun-tak trembled in fear when he faced Seong-jae again, but even in that situation, he prioritized ensuring the safety of his friend Seo Jun-tae (played by Choi Min-young) before confronting his trauma.

Facing an obvious outcome, Hyun-tak chose to step forward despite his uneasy gaze. However, it was insufficient to turn the tide. Still, viewers felt empathy for Hyun-tak's decision while also voicing their support.

#3 Actions speak louder than words. ‘Action’

Once caught up in Choi Hyo-man's (played by Yoo Soo-bin) scheming, Hyun-tak stood against Si-eun, but soon cleared up the misunderstanding and became a solid ally of Si-eun. Braving the risks against her warnings, he infiltrated the den of the alliance known as Daeseong Bike in search of evidence, eventually triggering a blood-curdling chase at night after being discovered by Na Baek-jin (played by Bae Na-ra).

Even amidst crises that made viewers grip their seats, Hyun-tak maintained his strong friendship with Park Hu-min (played by Ryeo-woon) while facing off against Do Seong-mok (played by Oh Gi-gwang). In a gripping battle, Hyun-tak, having experienced numerous setbacks, successfully landed his trademark spinning kick, astonishing viewers with his powerful action performance.

Thus, Lee Min-jae, through his fearless acting, delicately expressed the fear and loneliness hidden within unintentional violence, contributing to the weight of the drama. His multidimensional portrayal of a character with sharp emotions received praise for allowing the audience to fully feel the growing pains of 'Ko Hyun-tak.'

Meanwhile, ‘Weak Hero Class 2’, featuring Lee Min-jae, is available for viewing on Netflix, and the movie ‘Boy in the Pool,’ starring Lee Min-jae, is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 14.
