Actress Kim Geum-soon, who gave a brilliant performance in the film "When Life Gives You Tangerines" and the series "When Life Gives You Tangerines," praised singer and junior actress IU (Lee Ji-eun).

On the afternoon of the 28th, the director of the movie "When Life Gives You Tangerines" (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment, produced by HYBE Media Corp), Hwang Byeong-guk, and Kim Geum-soon appeared as guests on KBS Radio's "Yoon Jung-soo and Nam Chang-hee's Mister Radio" (abbreviated as Mira). They revealed their works and recent updates to the "Mira" listeners in line with DJ Yoon Jung-soo and Nam Chang-hee's hosting.

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" is a crime action film that unfolds as broker Lee Kang-soo ( Kang Ha-neul), who designs the drug trade in South Korea, prosecutor Gu Kwan-hee (Yoo Hae-jin), who aims to rise higher, and detective Oh Sang-jae (Park Hae-jin), who bets everything on eradicating drug crimes, intertwine with different objectives. In this film, Kim Geum-soon delivered a remarkable performance as Kim Hak-nam, the leader of a drug distribution organization.

In particular, Kim Geum-soon also showcased an impressive performance in the Netflix original series "When Life Gives You Tangerines" (written by Lim Sang-chun, directed by Kim Won-seok) ahead of the release of "When Life Gives You Tangerines." In the drama, she played the role of Mi-hyang, "Jenny's mom," who acts as a villain showing Yang Geum-myung (IU) the bitter taste of social life.

Park Hae-jin, who also appeared in "When Life Gives You Tangerines," received praise for playing Yang Kwan-sik's middle age and old age in "When Life Gives You Tangerines." Director Hwang Byeong-guk revealed that he had identified and cast Kim Geum-soon and Park Hae-jin well ahead of the filming of "When Life Gives You Tangerines."

Additionally, Kim Geum-soon cited "When Life Gives You Tangerines" alongside "When Life Gives You Tangerines" as her life’s work. He noted, "The script had a line where 'Jenny's mom' was described as having a 'wealthy vibe.' It was expressed that 'I want to use elegant Seoul dialect, but the accent that I cannot change still comes out.'"

Above all, he exclaimed, "The chemistry with IU was wonderful. She was sitting right in front of me, and she was so pretty." He continued, "Actually, it wasn't the first time I met IU. We also met in the movie 'Broker.'" He added, "We both said we should meet again under better circumstances next time. I had to apologize for constantly 'bothering' her because of the role," which brought laughter.

"When Life Gives You Tangerines" was released on the 16th and is now meeting audiences. As of recently, it has attracted over 1.63 million viewers, signaling a successful box office run.
