Actress Seo Hyun-jin has come under controversy as a past advertisement was used without notice in an election image.
On the 28th, a representative from Seo Hyun-jin's agency, Management Forest, told OSEN, "I have no knowledge of the photos from Seo Hyun-jin's election camp that became known online. The photo itself is not recent but merely an old advertisement, and neither the agency nor the actress was contacted about photo requests or usage."
Recently, amid the early presidential election atmosphere, an image in the form of a poster featuring Seo Hyun-jin with a candidate was shared in a mobile messenger chat room where supporters of the candidate gathered. Following this, suspicions arose that Seo Hyun-jin was supporting the candidate. However, the agency firmly denied the claim.
In fact, the image in question is an advertisement for an online shopping mall that Seo Hyun-jin shot about nine years ago in 2016. It was used solely because the color of the outfit worn by Seo Hyun-jin matched the color of the candidate's election camp, and neither Seo Hyun-jin nor her agency had any prior knowledge of its use.
However, the election camp involved has also denied the image was created and stated that its source is unknown.
