Actor Lee Joon-young shocked audiences by portraying a historic villain character in 'Weak Hero Class 2.'

Lee Joon-young captivated global viewers with his dimensional acting as Geum Seong-je in the Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 2' (written by Park Hyun-woo and Yoo Soo-min, directed by Yoo Soo-min, produced by Han Joon-hee), released on the afternoon of the 25th.

'Weak Hero Class 2' tells the story of a model student, Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), who transferred to Eunjanggo to escape the trauma of failing to protect a friend while fighting against violence, only to confront even greater violence to ensure he never loses a friend again, depicting a brutal survival tale and a radiant coming-of-age story.

In 'Weak Hero Class 2,' Lee Joon-young took on the role of Geum Seong-je, a free spirit who seeks only fun and does not wish to belong anywhere or to anyone. Charming yet unsettlingly 'my pace,' he appears to be the person closest to the leader of the bullies.

In the released episode, Geum Seong-je first appeared enjoying games at a PC bang. Upon hearing someone disparaging him from across the room, Geum Seong-je walked over without hesitation and mercilessly assaulted him, then calmly returned to his seat to immerse himself back into the game, revealing a cruel side.

When Geum Seong-je met Yeon Si-eun for the first time, he swung his fist at him while wearing a subtle smile, chilling viewers to the bone. The bloody fight scene on the rooftop was delivered with intense action acting that closely resembled a real fight, enhancing the immersion.

In 'Weak Hero Class 2,' Lee Joon-young perfectly absorbed the role of the heinous villain Geum Seong-je, successfully making another acting transformation as he added another life character to his repertoire. He reaffirmed his status as a 'trustworthy actor' with his cold and terrifying portrayal of the villain, continuing the 'handsome trash' moniker he earned from works such as 'D.P.,' 'Mask Girl,' and 'Brave Citizen.'

Having made a strong impression as a deserter in the 2021 Netflix series 'D.P.,' Lee Joon-young perfectly portrayed a historic villain character in the Netflix series 'Mask Girl' and the movie 'Brave Citizen,' establishing his unique presence. In the Netflix series 'Melo Movie,' released last February, he played Hong Si-joon, a genius who believes in himself but is actually an unknown composer, delivering a relatable performance as a heartbroken ex-lover with a different emotional tempo.

With 'When Life Gives You Tangerines' captivating audiences in 39 countries, Lee Joon-young played a pure and devoted young man, Yeong-beom, who only gazes at his girlfriend Kim Myeong (played by IU), stealing the hearts of global viewers. From a sweet couple to a painful breakup after a long relationship, he delivered a heartfelt love story, once again proving his limitless character versatility.

Lee Joon-young will meet viewers through the new KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama '24-Hour Health Club' premiering on the 30th.
