Thama, regarded as the hippest R&B vocalist, shared his heartfelt feelings about the emotional restoration of a classic hit from 30 years ago.

Thama, the first participant of the 'HIGHKOLOR' project, said on the 25th, "Kim Hyun-chul is a symbol of Korean city pop, a concept that goes beyond his name. I am honored to reinterpret a song that I have cherished and resonated with among countless masterpieces. The entire process was intriguing and...

Thama revisits Kim Hyun-chul's hidden gem, "Nevertheless," which was released 30 years ago. This is the first project of the remake brand 'HIGHKOLOR,' planned by the music creative group 'the ESKIMO.' Thama reinterprets it in a modern R&B style, delivering it in a more profound and sophisticated manner. He infused new life into the song by elevating emotions densely at a low temperature without an explosive delivery.

Thama stated, "I wanted to sing this song in a more calm manner, like a story that can now be told with a smile," adding, "I hope this song brings renewed attention to the original, encouraging more people to discover Kim Hyun-chul's music."

He also expressed towards the original artist, Kim Hyun-chul, "Honestly, I am very grateful for compliments like 'a good remake' or 'a fresh interpretation.' However, I know he is someone overflowing with detail and love for music, so I want to receive feedback musically on each part and learn a lot."

The 'HIGHKOLOR' project, themed around 'restoring emotions,' reinterprets classic hits from an era with a modern sensibility. This is particularly anticipated as the first project by producer Park Young-hoon, who has built his expertise as a journalist, lyricist, and planner. Thama's reinterpretation of "Nevertheless" will be released on the 29th at 6 p.m. across all music streaming platforms.
